Abstract: A method is described for producing saturated dicarboxylic acids with a chain length of C6 to C21 or the corresponding diamidic dicarboxylic acids from fatty acid cleavage of unsaturated fatty acids or the bis-fatty acid diamides of these unsaturated fatty acids by oxidative ozonolysis and subsequent separation and purification of the dicarboxylic acids, whereby after oxidative ozonolysis, the reaction products are dissolved at a high temperature in a carboxylic acid or a mixture of several carboxylic acids with a medium chain length of C6 to C12 or esters of short-chain alcohols of these carboxylic acids as the recrystallization solvent.

Abstract: Conventional x-ray tubes are designed as stationary or rotating-anode tubes. While the former are restricted in output, the latter are of complicated design. An x-ray tube is provided having an anode comprising a stationary shell and a rotating core mounted therein. Consequently, it is more compact than a rotating-anode tube and permits higher focal spot loads than a stationary-anode tube. The tube can be used for imaging procedures in medical diagnostics and in material testing.
Abstract: Detachable fastening of an inner lining, in particular a roof lining, at a receiving part of a motor vehicle, whereby an edge protection profile, which interacts with a deposited peripheral area of the inner lining, is slipped on a flange of the receiving part and locking hooks for fastening are provided locally on the inner lining. The deposited peripheral area of the inner lining is inserted into a receiving groove of the edge protection profile and the locking hooks of the inner lining interact with the edge protection profile.
Abstract: An actuating element for a latching device of a selector lever is provided. To prevent improper unlatching of the latching device, the force that can be introduced by an actuating element into a transfer rod is limited by a pretensioned spring located therebetween.

Abstract: In a position measuring device, a scale is embodied as a phase grating on which several partial beams impinge and are diffracted and caused to interfere with each other in the scanning unit. The entry angle (&agr;) of the partial beams corresponds to the Littrow angle, so that the diffracted partial beams of ±1st diffraction order are diffracted at the same angle &bgr;=&agr;. The diffraction efficiency of the scale is particularly great if the flanks of the bars of the scales are at an angle of approximately 70° with respect to the measuring direction, i.e., if the bars and gaps are embodied to be trapezoidal in cross section.

Abstract: There is described a needle board (1) for a device for needling a web, comprising a board body (2) of a light metal alloy, in particular a magnesium-aluminum alloy, and a plastic coating (3) cast onto the board body (2) on the side of the board facing the needle tips. To create advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the board body (2) preferably consisting of a cross-cut extruded section has undercut grooves (7) at its edges on the side of the board covered by the plastic coating (3), where the plastic coating (3) cast thereon positively fills the undercut grooves (7).

Abstract: A position measuring device having a graduated scale carrier member which is secured to a holder is described. The graduated scale carrier member is secured to the bottom side of the holder, so as to float over a viscous liquid film. The holder, in turn, is elastically supported on a mount. The measuring graduation marking is scanned through the holder, which is preferably made of transparent glass.

Abstract: A multipart sun roof for a motor vehicle is proposed which comprises a first roof section which can be moved at an angle and at least a second and a third roof section that can be longitudinally displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle for positioned closing and releasing of a roof opening. Adjacent to these movable roof sections, a permanently mounted fourth roof section is provided, wherein the roof sections which can be moved longitudinally are arranged in guide rails and their displacement is controlled by means of control, displacement, and operating elements.

Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for the control of the light distribution of a headlight arrangement of a vehicle with at least one first light sensor which senses light emissions acting on a driver from the field of vision in the direction of travel for various areas of the field of vision. A comparator device compares the intensity of the light emissions for each area with a threshold value. A control device controls the light distribution of the headlight arrangement as a function of a signal of the comparator device. In order to provide an improved process and an improved apparatus for the control of the light distribution of a headlight arrangement of a vehicle, it is proposed for the light distribution in the sense of an increase of the illumination of the edge of the road of the driver's own side of the road to provide a turn-off delay combined with a deadtime connected before it.
Abstract: A cylinder head for a valve-controlled internal combustion engine with a cylinder head housing, in which there are bearing blocks for the inlet or outlet camshaft. At least one camshaft has a camshaft adjuster, by way of which the position of the drive wheel of the camshaft can be changed relative to the axis of rotation of the camshaft. At least the bearing block, which is provided next to the camshaft adjuster and is intended for the camshaft, exhibits a segment, whose width is reduced owing to a recess for the screw connection of the cylinder head housing. The bearing site, arranged next to the camshaft adjuster, provides a bearing sleeve for the camshaft, in such a manner that the segment of the bearing block that is provided with a reduced bearing block width is expanded to the actual bearing block width. The sleeve exhibits openings to supply oil for the camshaft adjuster.

Abstract: A radiator intended for an internal combustion engine or assemblies thereof is installed in an end area of a body of a motor vehicle, especially an automobile, in a space delimited by the outside walls of the body. The outside wall has shape sections that run at angles to one another, to which the radiator is then adapted at least areawise by its outside contour to produce advantageous installation conditions for the radiator.
Abstract: A method for management of an anode furnace, from which an adjustable volume of flue gas is directed into a flue system, comprises the steps of measuring the actual flue gas temperatures in flues of each section as actual temperatures, taking related set temperatures from a set temperature schedule, calculating a time integral of deviation between actual and set temperatures, modifying the actual temperature during a baking process such that the time integral is reduced to zero at the end of the process, registering at least one of the oxygen content and the fuel load in each flue, and setting burner capacity according to the set temperature and to the available oxygen content in the flue.
