  • Patent number: 6363805
Abstract: A system and a process are provided so that a transmission, which is automatically shifting per se, can be operated a driving position switch for a first automatic operating mode and a switching rocker for a second operating mode influenced by the driver. In order to provide such a system and a process which has a selecting device and can be influenced for a short time by the driver, the control unit changes, from the automatic operating mode normally selected in a position D of the first selecting device (of the driving position switch), without the selection by the first selecting device, temporarily into the operating mode influenced by the driver when a second selecting device (a rocker or another signal device) arranged on the steering wheel is actuated.

  • Patent number: 6364071
Abstract: An internally ventilated brake disk has two friction rings and an inside shoe brake, in the interior friction ring. A ring groove is provided which, in its base, has passage openings to air guiding ducts between the friction rings of the brake disk. The ring groove is bounded laterally by a water collecting surface and on the opposite side by a water draining surface, in which case these two surfaces are inclined with respect to an exterior groove opening such that this groove opening is narrowed. The water collecting surface is arranged in an intended manner with respect to a wall of the air guiding duct. This indentation is used for collecting splashing water and removing the splashing water by way of the air guiding duct or a space between the friction ring and the shielding metal plate to the outside.

  • Publication number: 20020035991
Abstract: A process for controlling an internal combustion engine having a regulated turbocharger and integrated exhaust gas temperature is provided. The maximum cylinder filling capacity (rlmax) is taken from a stored characteristic field, which extends over the rpm (n) range. The values stored in the characteristic field are determined in the application and are standardized to a lambda value which can be preset, preferably to be lambda=1. When operating the internal combustion engine, the value of the maximum filling capacity (rlmax) taken from the characteristic field is corrected to the current fuel mixture composition.

  • Patent number: 6361636
Abstract: In the manufacture of a hardcover book, a laminated sheet is fed to the inner book spine with a wide roll machine, and the sheet consists of a paper-laminated gauze. The laminate is subsequently treated and has a flat fine creping with a lengthwise elasticity of 5-15%. The end of the laminate sheet is fed to the inner book (12) perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the inner book spine and pressed onto the glued inner book spine followed by the 10 mm overlaps to either side. The joint material (36) that is applied is elastic perpendicular to the inner book spine. The inner book can then be trimmed and rounded, and the joint (36) stretches without losing stability or tearing.

  • Patent number: 6357410
Abstract: An air intake system is provided on a multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine having opposed cylinder rows, and is equipped with a resonance chamber system. The resonance chamber system has outer and inner suction pipe sections, the inner suction pipe sections having movable slides, by means of which, as a function of parameters of the internal-combustion engine, long and short suction pipes can be implemented. The resonance chamber system has a single resonance container in which by means of the arrangement of the inner suction pipe sections and the adjustment of the slides, an efficient long-pipe and short-pipe operation, which optimizes the charging of the cylinders of the internal-combustion engine, can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 6357404
Abstract: A control system is provided for an internal-combustion engine of a piston design having several cylinders. At least one camshaft actuates valves for charge cycle control in a combustion space of the internal-combustion engine. Some of the valves, as a function of at least one parameter of the internal-combustion engine, are constructed to be adjustable with respect to the lift by switching elements interacting with the camshaft. For checking the functioning of one or several of the switching elements, measuring values of the camshaft are detected and, in the event of defined deviations, are indicated as a function signal.
