  • Patent number: 5868454
Abstract: A folding convertible top for a vehicle is held in its closed position on the adjoining windshield frame by locking arrangement and, after the release of the locking arrangement can be displaced into a rear-side deposited position. The locking arrangement comprises a locking element with a locking hook arranged on a forward folding top section as well as at least one centering device which acts between the folding top and the windshield frame, and has projecting centering elements arranged on the forward folding top section. A detent device is provided for fixing the folded-back folding top, and the locking element with the locking hook arranged on the forward folding top section and the centering elements also provided on the forward folding top section also form operating parts of the rear-side detent device.

  • Patent number: 5864274
Abstract: A magneto-mechanical power system including a cylindrical soft-iron vessel with permanent magnets arranged to form a shunt-magnetic gap with the inside wall the soft-iron vessel. The neck of the flux conducting disk is surrounded by a current winding. A magnetically attractable pole disk lies on the neck of the soft-iron vessel. An electrically conducting ring is fastened to the pole disk. The pole disk activates mechanical and/or electrical safety devices. The system is activated by a current impulse sent to the current winding. Current in the current winding creates a field that displaces the magnetic flux path of the permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 5852322
Abstract: A radiation-sensitive detector element has an active area which is formed between two adjoining layer areas of a layer arrangement and within which a conversion of incident electromagnetic radiation into electrical signals takes place. Taking into consideration the penetration depth of the radiation, the position of the active area in relation to the two limiting surfaces is selected in such a way that at least two layer areas for connecting the detector element to an evaluation circuit can be mounted on a surface located opposite the radiation-sensitive surface which is impinged by the incident radiation.

  • Patent number: 5845493
Abstract: The drive includes a reversible variable output pump (1), which supplies a hydraulic working machine (6) and is driven by an asynchronous motor (2). The working machine is intermittently hydraulically pressurized. During these times the asynchronous motor can be switched off since the subsequent start-up process, which causes a high current consumption in the case of asynchronous motors, is effected by the variable output pump. Before the beginning of the start-up process the variable output pump is preset to the maximum negative discharge rate by its proportional valve (10) being acted on by a control pressure. The volume pressurized in the working machine is then applied to the output side of the variable output pump. The asynchronous motor is connected to the current supply network after reaching a minimum speed.

  • Patent number: 5844413
Abstract: The invention describes a method and an apparatus for generating and receiving electromagnetic waves for test purposes and is applicable particularly for measurements, investigations and tests of electromagnetic compatibility. For testing the immunity, the test piece is acted upon with defined field parameters and, during the emission measurement, the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the test piece is measured. It is an important distinguishing feature of the invention that a cell, constructed as a TEM waveguide, is rotated about the test piece. The apparatus is characterized in that the lid and bottom of the pyramidal cell are constructed so as to be electrically conducting and in that two-dimensional septa, which consist of individual wires of equal length, are disposed in each case symmetrically at a small distance from the lid and the bottom.
