Abstract: A wheel for a motor vehicle has a rim spider provided with air openings and a rim well connected with this rim spider. The rim well and the rim spider are formed by shell parts which each have a molded-out interior and exterior wall and which are connected with one another by at least one connection. Between abutting wall areas of adjacent air openings of the shell parts, hollow spokes are formed and at least one exterior annulus and one interior annulus. On the interior side, the wheel parts are provided with reinforcing ribs on mutually opposite surfaces. • Patent number: 5915490
Abstract: A motor vehicle has at least one front-end radiator which is connected by means of a duct-type air guiding housing to a front-side air supply opening of an elastic covering part forming the end area of the vehicle. In order to absorb the relative movement on the air guiding housing without any damage the relative movement occurring in the case of an impact shock on the forward covering part while the cooling air guiding is good and the mounting is simple, it is provided that the air guiding housing is fixedly connected with the radiator and interacts with the covering part disposed in front only by way of a loose sliding fit and that the air guiding housing is made in areas of an elastically deformable material.

  • Patent number: 5915345
Abstract: The injection nozzle according to the invention for cooling the pistons of an internal combustion engine serves to produce a sharply bundled solid stream. In order to prevent separation of the oil stream at high oil temperatures and the associated low viscosity of the lubricating oil, it is proposed to provide at least two exit channels approximately parallel to one another, whose spacing is less than twice the diameter of the larger exit channel. With this design of two exit channels that are located very close together, an oil stream is produced that is a coherent solid stream a short time after leaving the exit channels.

  • Patent number: 5915889
Abstract: A polygon shaped cutting tip for a metal workpiece boring tool, the cutting tip having linear side edges lying in a common plane and adjacent side edges which pass tangentially into rounded corner regions. Parts of the corner regions and of the side edges serve as the primary and secondary cutting edges of the tip. A chip breaker edge is arranged at a distance in from the side edges. A chip breaker surface extends from the side edge to the chip breaker edge. The chip breaker edge includes linear sections corresponding to the linear side edges of the tip and has curved sections which correspond to the curved regions of the side edges. The arc of curvature of both the curved regions and the curved sections is the same although the arcuate length of the curved sections is greater. The chip breaker surface extends from the side edges of the corner regions inward toward and downward into the tip at an acute angle where it intersects the chip breaker edges.

  • Patent number: 5915346
Abstract: Within the cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine, coolant ducts are connected in the cylinder head and the coolant jacket of the cylinder block with the coolant pump by coolant passages inside the cylinder block. Starting at the flange surface between the cylinder block and the cylinder head, ducts extend in the cylinder block that are connected with the main ducts of the cooling circuit and serve to supply or drain the cylinder head. These ducts are connected by cast slots that take their departure from the flange surface with the coolant jacket of the cylinder block. These cast slots permit a connection of the coolant jacket with the cooling circuit that is easy to produce without additional bores being necessary. In addition, using casting to produce the connection increases the reliability of the process.

  • Patent number: 5914122
Abstract: A stable budesonide solution with a pH not exceeding 6.0 in which the budesonide is dissolved in a solvent which may be water, an alcohol such as ethanol, isopropanol or propylene glycol, or a water/alcohol mixture. The solution preferably also contains a stabilizer such as sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, cyclodextrins or mixtures thereof. The stable budesonide solution is useful as the active ingredient in a rectal enema or a rectal foam.

  • Patent number: 5912527
Abstract: An inertial positioner comprising a base plate and a carriage plate (2) slidably connected to one another via a bearing assembly (3) so as to allow relative movement of the plates in a positioning direction. The bearing assembly (3) comprises two sets of caged ball bearings seated in respective pairs of V-grooves (25 and 26) formed in the facing surfaces of the base and carriage plates, the V-groove pairs extending spaced apart in the positioning direction. An actuator comprising a piezoelectric element (4) and a rod (5) extends between the plates (1 and 2), the piezoelectric element (4) being secured to the carriage plate (2) and the rod (5) forming a frictional engagement characterized by a force F with the base plate via a collar (20) fastened to the base plate via biasing means (not shown). In operation, a periodic saw-tooth voltage is applied to the piezoelectric element (4) to produce motion.

  • Patent number: 5906991
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the production of a flavanolignan preparation with an improved liberation in comparison with one of the pure flavanolignans, characterized in that a) an aqueous-alcoholic solution of pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier materials and wetting agents is prepared, a flavanolignan is suspended in this solution and the mixture obtained is heated to the boiling temperature in order to form a clear solution or b) a flavanolignan and a wetting agent is suspended in alcohol, the suspension obtained is heated with stirring up to the formation of a clear solution, this is mixed with an aqueous solution of pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier materials and the mixture obtained is heated with stirring until a clear solution is present and that subsequently the clear solution obtained according to a) or b) is concentrated for the formation of a co-precipitate, filtered and the resulting co-precipitate dried in a vacuum.

  • Patent number: 5905350
Abstract: A position measuring system to determine the absolute angle position of a rotor of a motor during startup. With this absolute angle position, correct commutation for startup of the motor is provided. During later operation a high-precision incremental angle measurement is possible. For this purpose a switching unit is disposed between a rotary transducer and an evaluation unit, which is driven in such a manner that first the analog signals necessary for the determination of the absolute angle position are input to the evaluation unit and thereafter the analog signals required for incremental angle measurement are input to the evaluation unit. In order to avoid unacceptable incorrect positioning in case of incorrect switching between the first and second modes of operation, all the analog signals have an approximately equal spacing period.
