Also disclosed are systems and methods for dispensing fluid from the container.
Abstract: A self-modulating diffuser for regulating the volume flow of conditioned air from a duct to a selected space, affording a high level of air mixing and sound performance combined with ready control of the space temperature comprises an adjustable square cone plaque-type ceiling diffuser with an outer cone for developing horizontal air flow, a square plaque for attachment to the outer cone and an inner dampening cone positioned intermediate the outer cone and square plaque. Separate first and second sensor means measure the temperature in the duct and in the room space, respectively, and direct digital control means respond to signals from the sensors to produce a control signal which operates an actuator mechanism for adjusting the position of the inner dampening cone.

Abstract: A monochromatic or polychromatic proof of a high resolution master and a process and means for its preparation are described. The graphic arts industry requires monochromatic or polychromatic proofs having high resolution and tonally correct reproduction of halftone masters having frequency modulated screen or line screens with more than 80 lines/cm. These proofs are obtained by using image carriers having image-side surfaces with an average roughness of 1.1 &mgr;m maximum. Such color proofs are necessary to check color separations in the graphic arts industry for whether subsequent printing results are a tonally correct reproduction of the master.

Abstract: The use of specific sulphonic acids or hydrates thereof in or for the preparation of a cosmetic or dermatological composition for achieving various effects on the skin, such as promoting desquamation of the skin, stimulating epidermal renewal, combatting intrinsic and extrinsic cutaneous aging. A process for the non-therapeutic treatment of the skin intended to achieve such effects, such as to promote the desquamation of the skin.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for cryopreservation of cells or tissues encapsulated in a bioartificial organs, wherein the integrity and the viability of the encased cells are maintained, along with the integrity of the artificial capsule used to encase the cells. The method provides novel conditions for cryopreserving a bioartificial organ in a freezing container using a minimum volume of added cryopreservative solution necessary to maintain both the structural integrity of the jacket encasing the bioartificial organ, and the viability of the cells encased therein.
Abstract: A measuring machine produces an essentially linear movement in a moving part by transforming rotary movement to linear movement through a transmission element having a high modulus of elasticity in a longitudinal direction, and which is flexible in a transverse direction. The transmission element has two ends which are each fastened to the same mechanical element, and the transmission element is given a pre-stress which is greater than a maximum force encountered during acceleration while the machine is in use.
Abstract: A screwdriver is disclosed, comprising a removable depth stop which selectably either, when equipped with the depth stop, allows noiseless shutoff or, with the depth stop removed, allows torque-dependent shutoff, without any chattering occurring when the machine continues to run. To this end, an adjustable torque-dependent release clutch is combined with an entrainment clutch of known type, which is additionally preceded by a disconnect clutch, a locking means being provided in order to hold a throwout ring, which forms one of the two elements of the disconnect clutch, in a predetermined position under load. In this way, noiseless operation is ensured after release, both when working with the depth stop and in the case of torque-dependent shutoff, with the depth stop removed.
Abstract: A batt, which may be used for a mattress, a seat cushion or a ground pad for a sleeping bag, is compressed so that it has reduced false loft and reduced false support, and is therefore more durable for consumer use. The batt is compressed so that, when subjected to use for an average life cycle (usually six years), it has a thickness reduction of less than 15% and a reduction of load-at-half-height of less than 40%.
Abstract: Imidazoles may be manufactured by reacting a glyoxal, ammonia, an aldehyde, and optionally a primary amine, in the presence of a Bronsted acid whose pKa is approximately equal to the pKa of the ammonium cation of the primary amine, or if the primary amine is not present, to the pKa of the ammonium (NH4+) cation. The reaction may be used to make in relatively high yields a wide variety of imidazoles using relatively inexpensive starting materials. The imidazoles are useful as chemical intermediates.

Abstract: A storage rack having a plurality of shelves between end frames. Each of the plurality of shelves has U-shaped retainers that are snap fit, press fit, or friction fit onto a vertical member of the tubular end frame. A lateral support member attached to the end frames determines the different shelf heights with a side member resting on the frame cross members. In one embodiment, an angled end placed on the side members contacts the frame cross members, securely holding the bottom portion of a shelf. The top of the shelf being held by the U-shaped side end retainers and the bottom of the shelf being held by the angled ends results in a secure, rigid, easily assembled storage rack structure. In another embodiment, the storage rack has a triangular shape. The storage rack of the present invention can be easily assembled without any tools and is easily manufactured and shipped unassembled.
