Abstract: A pressure-controlled liquid supply system uses a pump control device to switch a pump on and off in response to a pressure level in the pumped liquid. The pump control device minimizes short cycling of the pump by preventing shut off of the pump while a flow is present through the pump control device and by delaying the shut off of the pump. The pump control device also avoids a significant drop in the output pressure by creating a reduced pressure zone, which provides the switch pressure used to switch the pump off.
Abstract: A liquid filter with a composite medium that has a nanoweb adjacent to and optionally bonded to a microporous membrane. The membrane is characterized by an LRV value of 3.7 at a rated particle size, and the nanoweb has a fractional filtration efficiency of greater than 0.1 at the rated particle size of the membrane. The nanoweb also has a thickness efficiency ratio of greater than 0.0002 at that efficiency. The nanoweb acts to provide depth filtration to the membrane, prefilters particles and extends the lifetime of the membrane.

Abstract: For the high spatial resolution imaging of a structure in a sample (2) the structure is marked with a substance which can be changed over by means of a first electromagnetic signal (5) from a first state having a larger absorption cross section for a second electromagnetic signal (3) into a second state having a smaller absorption cross section for the second signal (3) or which can be changed over by means of a first electromagnetic signal (5) into a first state having a larger absorption cross section for a second electromagnetic signal (3) from a second state having a smaller absorption cross section for the second signal (3). A spatially delimited distribution of a portion of the substance in the first state is then set by means of the first signal (5). Afterward, the second electromagnetic signal (3) is applied to the sample (2), and a local temperature increase in the sample (2) which results from the larger absorption cross section of the substance in the first state is detected.

Abstract: The method for estimating parameters of a navigation signal received by a receiver which receives navigation signals through a plurality of paths wherein the parameters include data modulated on the navigation signal and complex amplitudes i.e. amplitude and phase shift, and time delays of the individual paths, comprises receiving a navigation signal and sampling the received navigation signal. Moreover, the parameters are sequentially estimated in terms of a posterior probability density function. For facilitating the sequential estimation, the received vector is transformed into a compressed vector without loss of information by using a correlator bank having a plurality of correlator reference signals.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device, a probe, and a method for the galvanically decoupling transmission of a measuring signal. A microwave signal is supplied by a transceiver (1) to a sensor (3) by means of a galvanically decoupled waveguide (2). The signal is partially reflected in the sensor (3), the amplitude, phase and/or polarization of the reflected microwave signal containing the information relating to the measuring value. The reflected microwave signal runs through the same waveguide (2) back to the transceiver (1) and is evaluated therein. The invention provides a more simple and economical structure than conventional devices of prior art, as a voltage supply is not required especially on the sensor side as a result of the reflection. In this way, the sensor (3) can also be produced in a very compact manner, minimizing the influence of the measuring signal through the sensor (3).
