Abstract: The invention relates to polyphenylene sulfide (per)fluoropolymer materials, which can be used, for example, as tribomaterials. In particular, the present invention relates to polyphenylene sulfide (per)fluoropolymer materials that have an improved tribological behavior. The polyphenylene sulfide (per)fluoropolymer materials comprise a polyphenylene sulfide polymer matrix (PPS polymer matrix) with modified (per)fluoropolymer particles distributed therein in a (poly) disperse manner, which are present bonded to the PPS polymer matrix via chemical couplings. The present invention also relates to a method in which polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) with thiol groups and/or thiolate groups is reactively compounded in a melt with one or more modified (per)fluoropolymer (micro/nano) powders in a single-step or multi-step manner.

  • Publication number: 20110037969
Abstract: The present invention relates to a concept for optical distance measurement, wherein a radiation pulse is emitted in the direction of an object of measurement. At least two different transfer gates which couple a photoactive region to at least two different evaluating capacities are driven during different drive intervals so that charge carriers generated during the drive intervals by a radiation pulse reflected from the object of measurement and/or by ambient radiation can be transported from the photoactive region to the evaluating capacities each coupled to the at least two transfer gates. Another transfer gate is driven during a time outside the drive intervals of the at least two transfer gates to connect the photoactive region to a reference potential terminal acting as a charge carrier sink during the time outside the drive intervals of the at least two transfer gates.

Abstract: A bicycle power meter has a strain gauge sensor assembly mounted on a relatively compressible portion of the end of the rear fork of the bicycle frame. The relatively compressible portion is near the rear hub and subject to the forces exerted by the cyclist to the crankset, and transferred via the chain, and sprocket assembly to the hub. The sensor assembly has two ohmically interconnected stretch sensors each having a first layer bearing a variable resistance element, whose resistance changes with displacement of the compressible portion, and a second layer for providing support for the first layer. The sensor assembly is connected in a bridge circuit to two other resistances to generate signals representative of cyclist applied force. These signals are processed along with velocity signals to generate power signals and the power signals are supplied to a display.

  • Publication number: 20110037453
Abstract: A high-frequency detector device (1) including a detector circuit in which the input gate of the branch line coupler, from which the fundamental wavelength of an input signal is extinguished, is used for decoupling a bias voltage VDC of two Schottky-diodes (4, 5) and by a HF-technique, is closed by a resistance (R0) of a line impedance (Z0). Both phase-displaced outputs (8, 9) of the branch line-coupler (7) traverse electrical connection lines (19, 20) to reach two detector diodes (4, 5) and are recombined after the detector diodes (4, 5). The combined signals are guided to the detector output (3) via a downstream path filter (34). A compensation circuit (21) includes, for compensating the temperature drift of the detector diodes (4, 5), at least one additional diode (22, 24) that is structurally identical to the detector diodes (4, 5).

Abstract: The method consists of, when the instantaneous speed of the vehicle is greater than a pre-determined threshold: identifying that the vehicle travels in a straight line without torque exerted on the steering wheel; if the prior condition is met, determining an average residual torque for the steering wheel by calculating a sliding scale of measures of torque on the steering wheel; calculating a correction, if the average residual torque on the steering wheel is greater than a pre-determined minimum torque, which is proportional to the average residual torque to be applied to the torque measures on the steering wheel; calculating effective correction limited in terms of the speed of variation and amplitude in relation to the correction applied to the measures of torque on the steering wheel, said corrected measures being subsequently treated by the electronic calculator in order to control the electronic booster motor.

  • Publication number: 20110039211
Abstract: The invention pertains to a method for preparing a composite printing form from a single precursor that is capable of forming a relief and a carrier. The single precursor can be a single photosensitive element or a single laser-engravable print element having a reinforced elastomeric layer. The single precursor has a size that is at least 70% of a size of the carrier. The single precursor is located on the carrier by approximately positioning the precursor on the carrier that has no registration markings. Precise registration of the single precursor is achieved by using digital information generated from a computer to create the registered image on the composite form. The method is particularly suited for preparing composite printing forms for relief printing, and in particular for preparing composite printing forms for flexographic printing of corrugated substrates.
