Abstract: Blends of 20-99 parts by weight of a multi-block copolyester thermoplastic elastomer melting above 100.degree. C. with 80-1 parts by weight of a polyacrylate elastomer.
Abstract: A reductive process for making finely divided silver particles in which the silver particles are precipitated from an aqueous acidic solution of silver salt, gelatin and alkyl acid phosphate.
Abstract: The matting agent particles of matted photographic imaging materials contain a finely divided solid as well as a dye that is only present at the image-forming points after exposure and development of the material. The starry night effect is thereby avoided. The dye can be formed during exposure and development from a precursor, e.g., from silver halide or from couplers for color photography or for diazo processes.

Abstract: Hydrogen chloride evolution is reduced in the distillation of chloroform from its admixture with an amide solvent when in contact with stainless steel, by incorporation of certain tertiary aliphatic amines.
Abstract: A low cure cathodic electrodepositable resin is disclosed. The backbone of the resin is a polyepoxide amine adduct which is crosslinked with aminoplast resins and catalyzed by metal catalysts. The resin is capable of curing in a basic environment at a temperature below 150.degree. C. The resin can be salted with an acid and can be dissolved or dispersed in water. The aqueous dispersions can then be formulated into electrocoat primer coatings for metal objects.
Abstract: Melt-processible aramids are prepared by catalytic polyamidation of 3,4'-bisaminophenyl ether with diphenylisophthalate or diphenyl 5-t-butylisophthalate and minor amounts of aliphatic components.
Abstract: A process for preparing reverse osmosis membranes is disclosed. A microporous hollow support fiber is passed through a solution of a monomer capable of undergoing condensation polymerization and such as m-phenylene diamine up through a capillary into a sedond less dense solution of a second monomer capable of undergoing condensation with said first monomer, such as trimesoyl chloride or cyclohexane-1,3,5-tricarbonyl chloride. The resulting fiber has a polymeric film deposited thereon which is effective as a reverse osmosis membrane.

The contact element has a flat base face which in the mounted state of the contact element is situated completely or partially opposite the connecting area. The contact element also has at least one positioning device which projects from the flat base face and extends into the opening or recess of the substrate the contact element is mounted to the positioning device may be a positioning finger which fits freely into the opening or recess, or a positioning finger which acts on the substrate in a manner such that a retaining force is provided for keeping the contact element in position.
Abstract: A valve to be installed on containers for fluid materials is formed by two coaxial chambers (3) and (4) one of which is internal (3), contains the fluid material and is equipped with a movable piston (10) and a discharging valve (7) including at least one "bypass" hole (8) which connects the two coaxial chambers (3) and (4) in the area between the maximum level of the fluid (18) and the discharging valve (7). An elastic sheath or rubber ring (5) is provided to close and wrap tightly the hole (or holes) (8).

Abstract: This invention relates to the use of low temperature plasma technology for significantly improved corrosion protection of steel. The plasma process involves pretreating of the steel surfaces by oxygen plasma and thin film deposition by polymerization of certain precursors on the steel. The process utilizes DC power, substrates as the cathode, magentron anodes, and system pressures of 0.01-0.5 torr. After the thin film plasma deposition it is also preferably to put a primer coating over the thin film.

Abstract: A means for packaging parcels feeds parcels along a conveyor into a stop bar. A continuous web of thermally shrinkable film is provided from separate supplies above and below the conveyor as a barrier between the conveyor and a platform in the same plane as the conveyor. A pusher member moves the parcels laterally off of the conveyor into the web of film so that the film is withdrawn from the supplies as the parcel is pushed onto the platform. Sealing means is movable into the space between the parcel on the platform and the conveyor to press together, cut and seal the film webs leaving a new web barrier in place at the edge of the conveyor. Movable stop means on the platform into which the pusher pushes the parcel opposes the movement of the parcel but is movable in the direction of the pusher and parcel. The movable stop means has drive means controlling its movement. Sensor means is positioned to be engaged by the pusher member the parcel of the film to control the rate of movement of the movable stop.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cathodic electrodepositable resin containing polyamine enamine. It has been discovered that reacting epoxy resins with polyamine enamine is a viable method of introducing amine functionality to the epoxy resin. The polyamine enamine route results in the desired high pH and stable dispersion in the electrocoat bath.
Abstract: A rotatable seal which includes two inter-fitted relatively rotatable members. A sealing wire is passed through a hasp and through aligned apertures in the members. Relative rotation of the members causes the sealing wire to be wrapped at least partially around one of the members. Relative axial displacement of the members causes the apertures to be mis-aligned and the seal to be locked.
Abstract: A circuit for temperature compensation of a varactor voltage controlled oscillator control signal includes a proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT) current source and an adjustable, temperature stable current source. The difference between these two current sources defines an offset current. The varactor control signal voltage is shifted by a predetermined reference voltage and offset by an offset voltage proportional to the offset current, in a differential amplifier portion of the circuit, to provide a tuning signal for controlling the varactor so as to compensate for the varactor capacitance temperature drift. The adjustable, temperature stable current source allows tuning the circuit in order to precisely tune the VCO to a desired frequency under a predetermined set of operating conditions in order to correct component and process variations.
Abstract: A continuous signature stacker machine is provided with a transversely operating assembled package ejecting device. The stacker includes a platform onto which individual signatures are sequentially fed on edge to form a stack of predetermined length and a slide member against which the formed stack is pushed. The slide member is moved by a pair of chains slowly in one direction as a stack is formed and rapidly in the opposite direction to a position for forming a new stack after the formed stack is removed. The formed stack is manually or automatically pressed and strapped.
