  • Patent number: 6966584
Abstract: A molded thermoplastic body is formed with a rectangular cavity. A molded thermoplastic insert is welded to the body in the cavity and has a top cross member, a stem member and a bottom member. The stem member has a plurality of molded fingers cantilevered on opposing sides inclined relative to the stem member longitudinal axis in one embodiment. The stem member forms the cavity into two channels. A wire shackle which may be round or square in section, a wire or molded plastic, is U-shaped with two legs. One leg is formed with notches to receive the tips of the fingers in one channel and the other leg is formed with a reversibly bent barb which engages the fingers in the other channel on the opposite side of the cavity. The bottom member limits the insertion depth of the legs. The notches and barb engage the fingers and lock the shackle to the body.

  • Patent number: 6967341
Abstract: In a method for generating extreme ultraviolet radiation or soft x-ray radiation by means of gas discharge, in particular, for EUV lithography, a discharge vessel is provided with two electrodes that are connected to high voltage. Between the electrodes, in an area of two electrode recesses that are coaxial to one another, a gas fill with predetermined gas pressure in accordance with a discharge operation realized on the left branch of the Paschen curve is provided. In this area, a plasma emitting the radiation is generated when supplying energy. The plasma is displaced or deformed by a pressure change of the gas fill in the area of the electrode recesses.

Abstract: A system for monitoring and/or affecting parameters of a patient's body and more particularly to such a system comprised of a system control unit (SCU) and one or more other devices, preferably battery-powered, implanted in the patient's body, i.e., within the envelope defined by the patient's skin. Each such implanted device is configured to be monitored and/or controlled by the SCU via a wireless communication channel. In accordance with the invention, the SCU comprises a programmable unit capable of (1) transmitting commands to at least some of a plurality of implanted devices and (2) receiving data signal from at least some of those implanted devices. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the system operates in closed loop fashion whereby the commands transmitted by the SCU are dependent, in part, on the content of the data signals received by the SCU.

  • Publication number: 20050253675
Abstract: A core for a flexispline motor is enclosed within a distortable flexispline having the shape of an open tin can, such that under rest conditions the space between the flexispline and the core is constant. The core of the motor is shaped as in a hub and spoke configuration, with spokes having variable widths. Coils are fitted to the spokes and are connected in pairs such that pairs of coils on opposing spokes are in series bucking relationship. A second set of coils, which overlap the first coils, can be connected in a non-bucking manner to increase the magnetic flux produced by the coils on opposing spokes. The flexispline has a flexible ring gear incorporated in its surface near the open end which when magnetically attracted ceases to have a circular shape and forms a two-lobe (elliptical) or three-lobe shape. Under these conditions the corresponding points of the shape so formed contact a ring gear which is mounted on a rotating hub.
