Abstract: A touch-pad cursor control method is discussed. The touch-pad invention is placed in an electronic device and its control method is comprised of steps detecting if an object contacts the touch-pad; detecting the location of the object contacting the touch-pad; examining if an input for quick cursor movement exists, if YES, dragging the cursor on the device's display to the corresponding location of the object on the touch-pad in absolute coordinate positioning, if NOT, mapping the moving distance and direction of the object on the touch-pad to the position of the cursor on the device's display in relative coordinate positioning; detecting if an input button of the electronic device is pressed; and finally, executing a command based on an item pointed by said cursor on the display.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for making screen-printable getter composition comprising: (a) glass frit; and (b) pre-hydrated desiccant material; dispersed in (c) organic medium. The present invention further relates to a getter composition utilizing low-softening temperature glasses comprising, based on weight %, 1-50% SiO2, 0-80% B2O3, 0-90% Bi2O3, 0-90% PbO, 0-90% P2O5, 0-60% Li2O, 0-30% Al2O3, 0-10% K2O, 0-10% Na2O, and 0-30% MO where M is selected from Ba, Sr, Ca, Zn, Cu, Mg and mixtures thereof. The glasses described herein may contain several other oxide constituents that can substitute glass network-forming elements or modify glass structure. The desiccant material is pre-hydrated to reach its saturation level of moisture absorption. The process of pre-hydration can be done by exposing the desiccant in a normal temperature/humidity environment of for example, 25° C. and 50-60% RH. For 24 to 48 hours or up to the time when weight gain (due to moisture absorption) stops increasing.

Abstract: This invention discloses a device in a vehicle electrical system which determines the vehicle's operating conditions and facilitates the transfer of electrical energy between systems of electrical energy sources and their associated electrical loads based on the vehicle operating conditions. The device further determines the operating conditions of the systems of electrical energy sources and their associated electrical loads and facilitates the transfer of electrical energy between them in accordance with said operating conditions.
Abstract: The electromechanical regulator for passenger oxygen is a hybrid oxygen regulator that provides for electronic or mechanical regulation of oxygen flow. The electronic portion of the regulator consists of an inlet solenoid valve, an outlet solenoid valve, a cabin pressure transducer, a regulated output transducer and a PID based controller, and the solenoid valves are normally biased so that in the event of an electronic system failure or a power supply failure the system will automatically revert to mechanical operation.

Abstract: This invention relates to the synthesis and isolation of colloidal silver particles through the use of thermomorphic polymers and the resulting composition. It further relates to the use of the resulting composition in the preparation of inks for printing with silver-containing inks.
Abstract: A thin-film transistor includes a gate electrode having first and second gate electrode edges on opposed sides, and a drain electrode having a first edge that overlaps the first gate electrode edge, and a second edge that overlaps the second gate electrode edge. A diode array is fabricated by successive deposition of a conductive layer, a doped semiconductor layer and an undoped semiconductor layer adjacent to the substrate. A display pixel unit provides reduced capacitative coupling between a pixel electrode and a source line. The source line includes an extension that provides a source for the transistor. A patterned conductive portion is disposed adjacent to the source line. Another display pixel unit provides reduced pixel electrode voltage shifts using a source line and a balance line.

Abstract: An ophthalmic lens is presented in which the lens includes a progressive addition legion and a dynamic optic. The dynamic optic and the progressive addition region are in optical communication. The progressive addition region has an add power which is less than a user's neat viewing distance add power. The dynamic optic, when activated, provides the additional needed optical power for the wearer to see clearly at a near distance. This combination leads to the unexpected result that not only does the wearer have the ability to see clearly at intermediate and near distances, but the level of unwanted astigmatism, distortion, and vision compromise ale reduced significantly.

Abstract: A surgically implantable wire connecting device that is adaptable to accept various diameter wires by selecting pre-wired mandrels, each having a specific candidate diameter wire and length, and attaching the mandrels together in a metal crimp tube. The final assembly during surgery requires a simple crimp of the crimp tube to the adapter tube by using a standard crimp tool. The delicate lead wires that are being attached are not deformed or crushed by the crimp process and are located remote from the crimp.
