Abstract: A single f-? lens used for a micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) laser scanning unit is in a meniscus shape formed by the lens in which a concave surface faces towards the side of a MEMS reflecting mirror. The single f-? lens has a first optical surface and a second optical surface, at least one optical surface is aspherical surface in both main scanning direction and sub scanning direction, and satisfies specifical optical conditions. The single f-? lens converts the nonlinear relationship between scanned angle and the time into the linear relationship between the imaged spot distances and the time. Meanwhile, the single f-? lens focuses the scan light to the target in the main scanning and sub scanning directions, such that the purpose of the scanning linearity effect and the high resolution scanning can be achieved.

Abstract: Strains of Zymomonas were engineered by introducing a chimeric xylose isomerase gene that contains a mutant promoter of the Z. mobilis glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene. The promoter directs increased expression of xylose isomerase, and when the strain is in addition engineered for expression of xylulokinase, transaldolase and transketolase, improved utilization of xylose is obtained.

Abstract: An apparatus for driving a lens by electromagnetic driving force includes a frame, a barrel, a lens holder, a lens, a kicker, electromagnets and a resilient element. The barrel rotably mounted in the frame includes a first linkage structure. The lens holder includes a second linkage structure and is mounted on the barrel through the first and second linkage structures. The lens is coupled into the lens holder, and the kicker is mounted on an external wall of the barrel, and the electromagnets are mounted at the frame and the kicker respectively. The resilient element is connected to the barrel and the frame. The barrel can be pushed by a repulsion or attraction of a magnetic field produced by electrically conducting the electromagnets, and the first and second linking structures drive the lens holder to move from a first position to a second position.
Abstract: Identified are mutants of the promoter of the Z. mobilis glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene, which direct improved expression levels of operably linked heterologous nucleic acids. These are high expression promoters useful for expression of chimeric genes in Zymomonas, Zymobacter, and other related bacteria.

Abstract: The present invention refers to an acceleration process for macromolecular fragmentation in liquid medium, in gel or in a solid support, by means of joint application of enzymes and ultrasounds, as well as isotopes. The macromolecules, in any of these liquids, are mixed with enzymes and inserted in a recipient (2) and exposed to an ultrasonic radiation field (1). The combined effect of the enzymes and of the ultrasounds allows accomplishing, in time ranges between 10 s and 600 s, the fragmentation of macromolecules or whole proteontes, with the correspondent formation of their constituent lower molecular units.
