  • Patent number: 7540982
Abstract: A molding lens with indentations for measuring eccentricity and a method for measuring eccentricity thereof are disclosed. At least one indentation concentric with an optical surface is respectively disposed on a front plane and a rear plane of the molding lens on area outside the optical surface while the indentation is observed by means of a measuring microscope. Moreover, the eccentricity of the molding lens is detected by eccentricity test function of the measuring microscope and the eccentric direction is defined so as to modify the lens mould and replace conventional eccentricity test that uses a transmission eccentric scale indicator in combination with a jig. Thus the cost of test equipment is reduced, test procedure is simplified and efficiency of mould modification is improved. Therefore, it's more convenient to manage manufacturing of the lens.

An implantable neuromuscular pacer, such as that described in U.S. Pat. Nos. 5,193,539; 5,193,540; 6,164,284; 6,185,452; 6,208,894; 6,315,721; 6,564,807; and their progeny, may be used to provide to selectively provide such stimulation. Preferably, such a device may be battery powered so that it can operate independent of an external apparatus. In particular, systems and devices of the present invention preferably additionally include an activity monitor, e.g., an accelerometer or the like, that disables or limits stimulation to pronged time periods in which there is limited activity.

  • Publication number: 20090136607
Abstract: The present invention provides an outer frame for cubic hinge press and the cubic hinge press with this outer frame, said outer frame encloses an accommodation space; The supporting planes used for supporting and fixing the back cover plates of hinge sleeve cylinder are set around the inner walls of the outer frame and on the inner walls of upper and lower surfaces of outer frame; A window for the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of press is correspondingly set between two adjacent supporting planes on the outer frame. According to different needs, the outer frame may be designed as square frame, butterfly frame, basket type frame or spherical frame. The hinge press formed by connecting six hinge sleeve piston components through reinforcing plate or through hinge ears and pins is installed in the accommodation space enclosed by the outer frame, thus forming a cubic hinge press.

  • Patent number: 7537859
Abstract: A redox flow battery 1 has a stack of individual cells, shown diagrammatically as a single cell, with anolyte and catholyte compartments divided from each other by an ionically selective and conductive separator and having respective electrodes. The battery has anolyte and catholyte tanks, with respective pumps and a pipework. In use, the pumps circulate the electrolytes to and from the tanks, to the compartments and back to the tanks. Electricity flows to a load. The electrolyte lines are provided with tappings via which fresh electrolyte can be added and further tappings via which spent electrolyte can be withdrawn, the respective tappings being for anolyte and catholyte. On recharging, typically via a coupling for lines to all the tappings, a remote pump pumps fresh anolyte and fresh catholyte from remote storages and draws spent electrolyte to other remote storages.

  • Patent number: 7538561
Abstract: Methods of detecting an interface between materials having different dielectric loss factors using an apparatus having a transmission line including an inner conductor surrounded by dielectric and a shielding conductor are disclosed. Sublengths of inner conductor are exposed along the line, with adjacent sublengths being separated by shielded sublengths. In one embodiment the apparatus is excited by a signal and inserted into the materials to a predetermined depth. Signal attenuation is measured. The interface between strata is identified based upon signal attenuation. In another embodiment the apparatus is excited by a signal and progressively inserted into the materials. Apparatus position is tracked and t-he attenuation of the signal is monitored as a function of insertion distance to detect ranges having a substantial rate of change of attenuation and ranges having substantially no change of attenuation. The interface is identified based upon differences in the rate of change in attenuation.
