Abstract: An improved constraint approach reduces the energy drift rate to acceptable levels. In an embodiment of this approach, massively parallel constrained velocity Verlet NVE (constant particle number, constant volume, constant energy) MD simulations can be run using single precision arithmetic with very low energy drift (e.g., ˜1 Kelvin per microsecond simulated time) using large timesteps (e.g., 2.5 fs) for typical systems and MD force fields.
Abstract: An inter-processor communication approach is applicable to a message passing pattern called iterative exchange. In such patterns, two processors exchange messages, then perform a computation, and then this process is repeated. If two sets of send and receive buffers are used, then it is possible to guarantee that a receive buffer on the receiver's side is always available to receive the message. A message passing system controls which buffers are used for sending and receiving. These buffers are registered beforehand, thereby avoiding repeated registration at the time messages are sent. The sender is initially informed of all the possible receive buffers that the receiver will use, and the sender then uses these receive buffers alternately. Examples of this approach can avoid the use of multiple-step rendezvous protocols, memory copies, and memory registrations when a message needs to be sent.
Abstract: A method for flipping pages of an electronic book via an electromechanical information browsing device that controls page flipping actions of information displayed as an e-book on a display device. The browsing device includes a controller that provides tactile feedback so as to lessen the user-interface differences between conventional books and e-books. Sensors and control mechanisms in the controller generate a series of electrical signals that are interpreted by the computer that displays the e-book to control various browsing operations, such as flipping pages, controlling a rate of page flipping, jumping to pre-set locations in the e-book, etc.

Abstract: A method for dynamics simulation involves maintaining quantities according to a floating point binary format quantized to a first precision lower than the precision supported by the floating point format. For example, although an IEEE floating point number can represent numbers with a precision of one part in 2ˆ24, the quantities are quantized to a lower precision, such as one part in 2ˆ22. Operations are applied to sets of the quantities by quantizing the intermediate results of the operations to the lower precision than the precision supported by the floating point format.

Abstract: This invention relates to thermoplastic interlayers for laminated safety glass with superior vacuum de-airing at elevated temperatures and superior tacking and edge sealing properties. The sheeting has surface pattern on at least one of the surfaces characterized by flat surfaces with substantially uninterrupted channels for airflow in at least two non-parallel directions. The channels allow for rapid de-airing while the area roughness parameter ratio ARp/ARt in the range of 0.52 to 0.62, ARt being less than 32 ?m, and area kurtosis less than 2.5, allow for ease of tacking of the interlayer onto glass and edge sealing after de-airing has been completed. Said surface pattern may also be superimposed onto a pattern which is generated by melt fracture or other means on at least one side to enhance de-airing and aid edge sealing.

Methods of using the disclosed electrode structures are also disclosed. Another scheme includes devices combining display materials with silicon transistor addressing structures.
Abstract: Waterborne cathodic electrodeposition (CED) coating compositions comprising resin solids and optionally pigments, fillers and conventional coating additives, wherein said CED coating compositions comprise at least one bismuth compound in a quantity of 0.1 to 2.5 wt. %, calculated as bismuth and relative to resin solids content, together with at least one dicarboxylic acid selected from among acyclic dicarboxylic acids with 3 to 7 carbon atoms and dicarboxylic acids with 8 to 10 carbon atoms comprising a cyclic structural unit in a quantity of 3 to 15 equivalent-%, relative to the acid equivalents present in the CED coating composition.
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method can be arranged for coding and/or decoding with a phase invariant coding scheme that is useful for short burst signaling devices. 10-bit data is mapped into a 12-bit data with a non-coherent burst code mapper. A parity generator creates a 12-bit parity data to form a 24-bit extended binary Golay code from the 12-bit data. The values for selected bit fields in the 12-bit data and 12-bit parity data are swapped to generate I and Q data such that sensitivity to changes in rotational phase is removed. I and Q data can be used by a transmitter to transmit a rotationally-invariant signal. On receipt, I and Q signals can be recovered, reverse swapped to generate the parity and data signals, and remapped to recover the transmitted 10-bit data. The receiver can also be arranged to use a soft decoding method for improved signal integrity.

Abstract: An electronic advertisement method and system for an Internet browser with a book-like page-based flipping interface. Full pages of electronic advertisements presented on the computer screen are possible without obstructing the viewing and reading of other contents. This benefits both the viewer as well as the advertiser. An advertisement matching/delivery system provides a novel method of inserting advertisements into content as well as a novel method for revenue sharing among the parties involved. A Multi-Book advertisement system that allows contents in one book to be read before the contents in another book can be read, thus allowing some advertisements to receive readers' impression before some other contents can be viewed.

Abstract: A molding lens with indentations for measuring eccentricity and a method for measuring eccentricity thereof are disclosed. At least one indentation concentric with an optical surface is respectively disposed on a front plane and a rear plane of the molding lens on area outside the optical surface while the indentation is observed by means of a measuring microscope. Moreover, the eccentricity of the molding lens is detected by eccentricity test function of the measuring microscope and the eccentric direction is defined so as to modify the lens mold and replace conventional eccentricity test that uses a transmission eccentric scale indicator in combination with a jig. Thus the cost of test equipment is reduced, test procedure is simplified and efficiency of mold modification is improved. Therefore, it's more convenient to manage manufacturing of the lens.
