  • Patent number: 7264914
Abstract: This invention provides novel fluorine containing polymers which comprise at least one fluorinated olefin, at least one polycyclic ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a fused 4-membered carbocyclic ring and, optionally, other components. The polymers are useful for photoimaging compositions and, in particular, photoresist compositions (positive-working and/or negative-working) for imaging in the production of semiconductor devices. The polymers are especially useful in photoresist compositions having high UV transparency (particularly at short wavelengths, e.g., 157 nm) which are useful as base resins in resists and potentially in many other applications.

  • Patent number: 7264706
Abstract: An improved aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition that contains an anti-crater agent which is a water-reducible polyester resin having an acid value less than 40 mg KOH/g. The water-reducible polyester is the reaction product of (1) a hydroxy cyclic carbonate; (2) a polycarboxylic acid anhydride; (3) optional monofunctional epoxy resin; (4) a polyfunctional epoxy resin; and, (5) a polyamine compound containing tertiary amine and either primary or secondary functionality. The reaction product is neutralized in the presence of acid and water to convert the tertiary amine groups to water-dilutable groups. Hydrolyzable silane groups can also be incorporated into the reaction product to further enhance its crater resistance property. The electrocoat composition produces coatings having a smoother appearance with fewer craters without adversely affecting intercoat adhesion of the cured film to subsequent coating layers applied thereover.

  • Publication number: 20070200874
Abstract: A method and system for applying addressing voltages to pixels of a display involves receiving input data. The input data includes an indication of an addressing voltage impulse to be applied to a pixel via an electrode. One or more voltage sources are selected, to provide the addressing voltage impulse. The one or more voltage sources each have a pre-selected voltage, The selected one or more voltage sources are electrically connected to an electrode to apply the addressing voltage impulse to the pixel. The invention also provides a method of driving an electro-optic display which uses an intermediate image of reduced bit depth, and a method of driving an electro-optic display which uses a limited number of differing drive voltages, with higher voltage pulses being used before lower voltage pulses.

  • Publication number: 20070199371
Abstract: A hardness tester of a relatively large “cantilevering” and/or designed for permitting application of relatively large loads to the indenter may be constructed in a much slander and lighter manner by employing a loading mechanism based on the use of a second or auxiliary loading arm pivotally anchored to the frame of the tester and therefore completely independent of the stress structure of reference contained in the frame of the tester, which mechanical connects the anvil, on which the test object is placed, to the indenter. The load, applied to said second auxiliary arm is transmitted to the indenter carrying arm of the reference stress structure of the tester by unrestrained abutment of a rolling bearing solidly mounted on one of the two arms on a surface of the other arm. Along the trajectory of movement of the tip of the indenter toward the anvil.

Abstract: A first electrophoretic medium comprises an electrically charged particle suspended in a suspending fluid, the particle having a polymeric shell having repeating units derived from at least one monomer the homopolymer of which is incompatible with the suspending fluid. A second, similar electrophoretic medium comprises a suspending fluid, and first and second types of electrically charged particle suspended in the suspending fluid, the two types of particle having differing optical characteristics but both having polymeric shells. • Patent number: 7261935
Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-layer polymer composition having a polar outer layer and a non-polar second outer layer. The polar outer layer is preferably PVC and the non-polar outer layer, polypropylene. The adhesive tie layer is a unique blend of a copolyester elastomer, a non-polar polymer, and a copolymer that contains functional groups capable of reaction with the functional end groups of the copolyester elastomer and that is totally or partially miscible with the non-polar polymer in the second outer layer. The multi-layer polymer can be advantageously coextruded. The non-polar outer layer can comprise the bulk of a fabricated part, with only a thin layer of polar polymer, providing desired attributes of the polar polymer at a lower cost.

  • Patent number: 7262927
Abstract: An auto-focus lens module uses electromagnetic force to drive a lens moving for focusing. The auto-focus lens is composed by a lens holder, a coil and an upper frame clipped on outer circumference of a lens so as to form a lens holder set. And the coil is fixed between the lens holder and the upper frame so as to reduce diameter and volume of the coil. Two arched magnets are disposed on left and right sides of the coil and are positioned by a top cover so that the volume of the magnets is reduced. Two springs are disposed on two guide pins on opposite angles, elastically supported between the lens holder and the inner surface of the top cover for providing the lens holder homogeneous support while moving for focusing. Thereby, the components of the lens module are simplified, the volume of the device is minimized, and the lens holder moves stably for focusing.
