Abstract: Provided are an electrical and/or electronic system protecting circuit using an abrupt metal-insulator transition (MIT) device which can effectively remove high-frequency noise with a voltage greater than a rated standard voltage received via a power line or a signal line of an electrical and/or electronic system, and the electrical and/or electronic system including the electrical and/or electronic system protecting circuit. The abrupt MIT device of the electrical and/or electronic system protecting circuit abrupt is connected in parallel to the electrical and/or electronic system to be protected from the noise. The electrical and/or electronic system protecting circuit bypasses toward the abrupt MIT device most of the noise current generated when the voltage greater than the rated standard voltage is applied, thereby protecting the electrical and/or electronic system.

Abstract: Provided is a method of preventing a data collision that occurs when two or more child nodes simultaneously transmit data to a parent node in a ZigBee network having a tree routing scheme and operating in a beacon mode. In the ZigBee system having the tree routing scheme and operating in the beacon mode, data communication to the parent node is performed in a beacon frame of the parent node. Here, when several child nodes exist under a single parent node, the child nodes transmit data to the parent node at the moment of receiving the beacon of the parent node, so that the data collision may occur when the child nodes simultaneously transmit the data to the parent node in the beacon frame of the parent node. In the method of preventing a data collision, each of the two or more child nodes is set to wait for its guard time (delay time) when transmitting data to the parent node to induce a normal slotted carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA-CA) operation.

Abstract: Provided is a method for providing Internet protocol (IP) handoff of a mobile node (MN) under a multiple mobile agent platform (MAP) environment. In the method, a registration request message for an IP handoff is received from an MN in a network including a plurality of MAPs, and information about the MN is shared with an MAP managing an area in which the MN is located before through a signal packet path. The signal packet path is established separately from a data packet path for transmitting signal packets associated with IP handoff. An IP handoff for the MN is provided based on the shared information. Therefore, a rapid IP handoff is possible since the two MAPs share information about the MN with each other.

Abstract: A dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) device and a method thereof are provided. In the DBA method, the band allocation periods according to class queues and allocable bands with respect to each class queue are calculated on the basis of the service level agreement information and stored according to the service types in separate tables. The bandwidth allocation amount is calculated with respect to class queues which have the allocation periods by concurrently checking all the tables at each frame. The upward bandwidth usage efficiency is improved by calculating the final bandwidth allocation information from the service with a high priority order on the basis of the total allocable bandwidth of the corresponding frame. The upward bandwidth allocation amount can be calculated at each frame by reducing the processing speed in calculating the bandwidth allocation amount of each class queue. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively use the network.
