Abstract: Provided is a communication apparatus having a human body contact sensing function and a method thereof. The communication apparatus includes: an electrode that comes in contact with the human body; a contact sensor that is connected to the electrode, and instructs the central processing unit to perform an initial operation if contact with the human body is sensed; and a data processing unit that receives a control signal from the central processing unit so as to select whether to transmit or receive data, and performs a transmitting or receiving operation according to the control signal. Accordingly, in order to reduce power consumption when in a stand-by state before human body contact is made in a communication apparatus using a human body as a communication medium, a human body contact sensor is included so as to minimize power consumption of a micro processing unit and a transmitter/receiver circuit until contact occurs.

Abstract: A multi-channel processing system for selectively generating and transmitting/receiving a desired channel (FA: Frequency Assignment) signal and a band-pass filtering method thereof are provided. The multi-channel processing system includes a controller for receiving a channel selection signal including ON/OFF information of the respective channels and generating a filter coefficient corresponding to the channel selection signal; an input signal generator for generating an input signal; and a band-pass filter for changing a predetermined filter coefficient according to the filter coefficient generated by the controller and filtering the input signal from the input signal generator. Accordingly, since the controller can change the filter coefficient of the band-pass filter and selectively generate a channel, an efficient and simple multi-channel processing system using one band-pass filter regardless of the number of generated channels may be provided.

Abstract: Provided is a field emission display (FED) capable of driving on the basis of current and preventing leakage current caused by thin film transistors (TFTs). The FED includes: a plurality of unit pixels including an emission element in which cathode luminescence of a phosphor occurs and a TFT for driving the emission element; a current source for applying a scan signal to each unit pixel; and a voltage source for applying a data signal to each unit pixel. Here, the on-current of the current source is high enough to take care of the load resistance and capacitance of a scan row within a given writing time, and the off-current of the current source is so low that the electron emission of each pixel can be ignored. In addition, the pulse amplitude or pulse width of the data signal applied from the voltage source is changed, and thereby the gray scale of the display is represented.

  • Publication number: 20080287078
Abstract: A terminal of a communication system includes a power amplifier, an open-loop power controller, a gain controller, a modulator, and a digital/analog converter. The power amplifier amplifies transmission power of a transmission signal. The open-loop power controller measures a received signal strength to control the transmission power, and increases a gain of the power amplifier according to the received signal strength. The gain controller sets a power concentration gain and applies the power concentration gain to the transmission signal when the gain of the power amplifier is maximized. The modulator modulates the transmission signal. The digital/analog converter converts an input signal to an analog signal. The gain controller applies the power concentration gain to the trans mission signal modulated by the modulator, and transmits the power concentration gain to the digital/analog converter.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multiple antenna transmitting/receiving apparatus that performs a hybrid automatic repeat request, and a retransmission method thereof. An initial transmission signal is encoded into the form of an initial transmission matrix and transmitted to the receiving apparatus, the initial transmission matrix corresponding to a linear dispersion code, with a result of error checking performed on the initial transmission signal by the receiving apparatus. When an error is detected in the initial transmission signal, a first retransmission signal is generated by encoding the initial transmission signal in the form of a retransmission matrix and transmitted to the receiving apparatus. The retransmission matrix is formed of constituent elements of the initial transmission matrix but different from the initial transmission matrix, and corresponds to a linear dispersion code having the same capacity and diversity gain as those of the initial transmission matrix.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing software by function units are provided. In the method, at the streaming client, a functional unit identification is created for identifying a function requested from a user by intercepting a request of a predetermined function in application software from a user. Then, it determines whether a functional unit corresponding to the created functional unit identification is streamed or not, and determines whether each of execution pages of the functional unit is streamed or not when the functional unit is not streamed. After determining, a streaming list is composed with execution pages that are not streamed based on the determination result. Then, a streaming service is requested by transmitting the composed streaming list to the streaming server, and execution pages transmitted from the streaming server are received and stored.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a transmit diversity method of a mobile communication system and a base station transmitting apparatus using the same. A first code and a second code that is diversity-encoded from the first code are generated, and transmit symbols are spread with the first code and the second code. A first transmit symbol spread with the first code and a second transmit symbol spread with the second code are mapped to symbols in frequency and time domains in a frame and transmitted through antennas. Therefore, various diversity techniques can be provided to the mobile communication system, and the diversity technique is not restricted to symbols transmitted to the same mobile station and can also be applied to a 1-bit channel.
