Abstract: A washing method in a steam injection type washing machine in which wash water is heated to generate high temperature and high-pressure steam while passing through the steam supply unit in the wash or rinse cycle, and the generated steam is injected into the wash tub at the top of the wash tub. Accordingly, it is possible to rapidly achieve the wetting of clothes with wash water while achieving an enhancement in sterilization and washing performances. In addition, consumption of water and electrical energy can be reduced.

Abstract: A method for checking a disk loading status in an optical disk driver including the steps of: discriminating a loading status of an optical disk during multiple loading stages of the disk; transmitting information to a host connected through an interface to the optical disk driver in case that disk has been jammed upon discrimination; and performing disk-ejection operation according to a disk ejection command received from the host, wherein in the step of discriminating the loading status of an optical disk by during multiple loading stages of the disk, a loading status of an optical disk is discriminated on the basis of sensing signals respectively outputted from a plurality of optical sensor for sensing a size of the optical disk and from a loading switch for sensing whether the optical disk has been clamped.

Abstract: A drum type washing machine and controlling method thereof is provided. In the drum type washing machine, a tub is provided, a drum is installed in the tub to rotate about a horizontal axis, a driving motor rotates the drum, a key input unit receives a washing instruction from a user, a memory stores a reference quantity value and a reference eccentricity value, a microcomputer controls washing and rinsing operations in accordance with a procedure set by the user upon an input of a start command through the key input unit and it also controls a preliminary spin drying operation to be selectively performed based on a comparison result obtained by comparing a measured laundry quantity and a measured eccentricity with the reference quantity value and the reference eccentricity value, and a driving control unit controlling the driving motor in accordance with a control signal of the microcomputer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an audio recording level. The apparatus variably controls a recording level of audio data recorded on a rewritable recording medium such as a DVD-RW disk on the basis of either a firstly-recorded audio level average value in song units or a previously-recorded audio level average value in song units, and then records the resultant data on the recording medium. In this way, the apparatus records the audio data to be recorded on a single recording medium at a prescribed audio recoding level within the appropriate range, resulting in even playback audio levels regardless of the type and/or format of audio data.

Abstract: A high-density read-only optical disc, and an optical disc apparatus and method using the same. The apparatus and method record data on a lead-in area of a high-density read-only optical disc such as a BD-ROM (Blu-ray disc ROM (Read Only Memory)) in the form of pre-pit strings associated with an HFM (High-Frequency Modulated) groove applied to a BD-RW (Blu-ray Disc Rewritable). Moreover, the apparatus and method continuously apply the same tracking servo operation to an entire area of the same high-density read-only optical disc or rewritable optical disc. Therefore, the apparatus and method can simplify an algorithm for controlling a plurality of tracking servo operations, and avoid an increased size of the optical disc apparatus.

Abstract: Systems and methods of manufacturing and testing non-volatile memory (NVM) devices are described. According to one exemplary embodiment, a function test during manufacturing of the NVM modules is conducted with a system comprises a computer and a NVM tester coupling to the computer via an external bus. The NVM tester comprises a plurality of slots. Each of the slots is configured to accommodate respective one of the NVM modules to be tested. The NVM tester is configured to include an input/output interface, a microcontroller with associated RAM and ROM, a data generator, an address generator, a comparator, a comparison status storage space, a test result indicator and a NVM module detector. The data generator generates a repeatable sequence of data bits as a test vector. The known test vector is written to NVM of the NVM module under test. The known test vector is then compared with the data retrieved from the NVM module.

The packet is transmitted from or to an application according to a network protocol in a multi-hop mesh network having a local node and a remote node. The packet is classified into the packet type using one of a pre-defined port list, a dynamic port table, and an application header of the application.

Abstract: An embodiment is a technique to perform packet scheduling for QoS. A plurality of buffers is visited in a variable round robin manner. The buffers store packets having packet types associated with priority levels and having buffer types according to the packet types. The packets are generated for transmission from an application according to a network protocol in a multi-hop mesh network having a local node and a remote node. The buffers are dequeued according to the buffer types and using an amount dynamically weighted by the priority levels associated with the buffer types.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a non-freezing refrigerator which can keep the contents in a non-frozen state by an electric field. The non-freezing refrigerator includes a setting unit for selecting and setting a magnitude and frequency of a voltage, a generating unit for generating an electric field according to the voltage having the set magnitude and frequency, and applying the electric field to a storing space for storing the contents, and a freezing cycle for cooling the storing space. The contents are kept in the non-frozen state below a phase transition temperature.

Abstract: Receiving commands from a remote controller and automatically activating display areas for cursor navigation. Content display areas within a display frame respectively correspond to a variety of content items and include a primary display area wherein cursor navigation is activated and secondary display areas wherein cursor navigation is prevented. Remote controller navigational commands, for example, then allow cursor based navigation for the content item currently displayed in the primary display area. A content selection command such as a number key input of the remote controller allows immediate and automatic updating of the primary display area to include a desired content item that is associated to the command (e.g., the particular number).
