The structure includes a wash motor with a motor shaft disposed at its center, a sump housing that the motor shaft passes through, and a sealing portion that seals the space between the wash motor and the sump housing. The sealing portion is an aircap that controls the water level of washing water introduced into the aircap by means of air pressure of air inside the aircap, or a sealing member coupled to the motor shaft of the wash motor.

Abstract: In multicast service channels capable of efficiently transmitting multicast data and a method for efficiently managing multicast services using new multicast channels, a communication system includes: a higher layer; a first layer as a physical layer; and a second layer as an intermediate layer for processing data from the higher layer to generate multicast data and multicast control data, the second layer including at least one logical channel for transmitting the multicast data from the higher layer, at least first transmission channel for transmitting the processed multicast data to the physical layer, and at least one second transmission channel for transmitting the multicast control data to the physical layer.

Abstract: An electric power socket module comprising a socket portion, a switch portion and a plurality of conductive pins is provided. The socket portion and the switch portion are integrally formed and electrically connected in series by using the conductive pins. Thus, conventional wirings and hand-welding can be eliminated to reduce the costs and enhance safety.

Abstract: The present embodiments provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for use in controlling the display of information relative to the playback of programming content and displaying programming guide data. Some embodiments provide a method for use in controlling the display of an electronic programming guide. The method receives programming guide data, determines whether the guide data is to be filtered, filters the guide data to replace at least a first title with a generic title, determines whether limits are to be applied to the guide data, applies the limits to the programming guide data by replacing at least a second title with the generic title, and displays a programming guide according to programming guide data as filtered and as limited. Some embodiments further display progress bars for one or more active applications. Trick commands can be implemented by applications by selecting one or more of the displayed progress bars.

The ice making system includes an ice maker body, an ejector rotatably coupled to the ice maker body that drops ice pieces made by the ice maker body, an ice bank drawably disposed below the ice maker body that stores the ice pieces dropped by the ejector, an ice sensing lever that senses an amount of the ice pieces stored in the ice bank, a lever holding device that elastically supports and couples the ice sensing lever, and a driving force transmitting device that transmits a rotation force received from the ejector to the lever holding device, thereby rotating the lever holding device. The ice sensing lever may move within a predetermined range when an external force is applied to the ice sensing lever.

Abstract: A system and method for converting a film camera into a digital camera uses an electronic device placed in a space of the camera that normally contains film. The device includes an image sensing array arranged in optical communication with a lens of the camera when a shutter is open. An audio sensor is used to detect sounds within the camera, and an acoustic pattern recognizer with a built-in training mode is used to determine if the detected sounds correspond with the shutter operation. The image sensing array is switched into an image capture mode when the acoustic pattern recognizer determines that the shutter is being opened. When the shutter is opened, a read-out circuit captures multiple image frames from the image sensing array. An image processor associated with the image sensing array processes the captured images using advanced image processing algorithms.

Abstract: A motor position signal processing apparatus electrically connected to a signal processor and an optical encoder of a motor control system includes a first switch, a second switch, a first signal integration amplifier, a first separator, a second signal integration amplifier, a second separator, a third signal integration amplifier, a third separator, a fourth separator and an inverter. An enable signal outputted by the signal processor is processed by the inverter to switch the operation to the first switch or the second switch. An incremental signal outputted by the optical encoder, a motor mechanical position and a reset correction signal are processed by the first, second and third signal integration amplifiers and transmitted to the signal processor for controlling the operation of a motor.

Abstract: The send, end, and/or push-to-talk functions of a combination cellular telephone/two-way radio, are controlled with a single button on a hands-free device having a cable attached to the button, a microphone, and an earpiece. The button is pressed to instruct the cellular telephone/two-way radio to transmit in a half-duplex communications mode for a two-way radio conversation. The user speaks while continuing to press the button, to transmit the user's words in the two-way radio conversation. Next, the user releases the button, to instruct the cellular telephone/two-way radio to cease transmitting, to permit the user to hear words transmitted by the other party to the two-way radio conversation. Additionally, in some examples the user may answer an incoming cellular telephone call by pressing the button used during the two-way radio conversation, to instruct the cellular telephone/two-way radio to establish communications for a full duplex cellular telephone conversation.

Abstract: A compressor and oil separation device therefore are provided. The oil separation device is integrated with a compressor and includes a first case having a refrigerant inlet into which a refrigerant mixed with oil is sucked and an oil recollecting member through which oil separated from the refrigerant flows, and a second case positioned outside of the first case and having a refrigerant outlet through which refrigerant separated from an oil is discharged. With this constructions, a pipe connecting the compressor and a separate oil separation device is not required, thereby reducing fabrication costs and facilitating installation.

Abstract: A method for charging portable electronic device is disclosed. When the portable electronic device is connected to a power source, the method selects a protecting mode or a fast charging mode to charge the battery according to the current operating status of the portable electronic device. Simultaneously, the battery power is also controlled within a safety range. Therefore, the invention can charge the battery of the portable electronic device at a high speed without affecting the efficiency of the device. Moreover, the battery is also protected from being overcharged to extend the life of the battery.

The rotatable support mechanism includes a base, a rotatable disk, and an elastic stopper. The base attached to the body of the electronic device has an axle. The rotatable disk has a holder and a groove. The axle passes a sidewall of the groove. The rotatable disk rotates around the axle as an axis. The sidewall of the groove has at least an opening. The elastic stopper mounted to the axle has an elastic shell fragment and does not rotate with the disk. As the disk is rotated, the elastic shell fragment enters and passes through the opening to exert a resistance force to the disk. Therefore, the electronic device is upheld vertically or horizontally by the rotatable support mechanism.

Abstract: A method of evaluating halo artifacts is described herein. The method utilizes a pattern of color patches, a color space and color difference metrics to analyze color changes which correlate to the amount of halo. The pattern of color patches is utilized in the CIE L*a*b* color space to determine an area of patch unaffected by halo of the pattern of color patches. After the area of patch unaffected by halo is determined, a Reference Value is computed by averaging the CIE L*a*b* color for the area of patch unaffected by halo. Then an Artifact Value is calculated either by averaging the CIE L*a*b* color for the area outside the area of patch unaffected by halo but before the margin or by averaging the CIE L*a*b* color on the edge of the patch. Once these values are determined, the halo quantity is calculated.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing a signal and method thereof are disclosed. Data coding and entropy coding are performed with interconnection, and grouping is used to enhance coding efficiency. The present invention includes the steps of obtaining a difference value and index information and entropy-decoding the index information and identifying an entropy table corresponding to the entropy-decoded index information and entropy-decoding the difference value using the identified entropy table and obtaining data using a reference value corresponding to a plurality of data and the decoded difference value.

Abstract: A method for efficiently decoding a video signal is disclosed. The method for decoding a video signal based on fine granularity scalability (FGS) includes obtaining a first reference picture from a reference picture list, decoding a current block using the first reference picture, wherein the first reference picture and a second reference picture corresponding thereto have the same picture identification information and are distinguished from each other by another identification information. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize a problem caused in a procedure for decoding a video signal due to transmission error.

Abstract: Image block error concealing apparatus and methods in a mobile communication system can improve a picture quality. When a pixel/block has an error, a motion vector is generated by fast-motion-estimating a preceding frame and a subsequent frame, and the error-generated pixel/block can be restored using the motion-compensated pixel/block. Filtering can be performed by selecting first or second filters (e.g., an adaptive weight sum and an average sum) according to a difference value between the restored pixel/block and an average value of adjacent pixels/blocks, to refine the restored pixel/block.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of composing a user menu by proving a shortened route to the menu the user selected among a hierarchically structured On Screen Display menu so that the user can find a menu he or she wants more conveniently. The method comprises the steps of deciding whether an item is optionally selected out of the hierarchically structured OSD menu items; deciding whether a user menu registration button for the optionally selected item is pressed; registering the selected menu with the user menu by adding an index to the currently selected item once the user menu registration button is properly pressed; displaying the registered user menu on an OSD menu if a user view menu is established; actuating a corresponding menu item when an optional item is selected among the user menu; and deleting a menu item from the user menu if a deletion button is pressed on an optionally selected item out of the user menu.
