Abstract: An apparatus for processing images includes a de-multiplexer, a first decoder, a thumbnail generator and an encoder. The de-multiplexer receives a data stream, the de-multiplexer de-multiplexing a video signal and a channel information from the data stream. A first decoder decodes the video signal to provide a decoded video signal including at least one of Predicted frame, (P-frame), Intra frame (I-frame) or Bi-directional frame (B-frame). The thumbnail generator is coupled to the first decoder, and the thumbnail generator generates at least one of a still picture thumbnail or a moving picture thumbnail based on the decoded video signal. The still picture thumbnail and the moving picture thumbnail have at least one of a smaller resolution or a smaller data size than the decoded video signal. The encoder is coupled to the thumbnail generator and the de-multiplexer.

Then, the third heater and the fan continuously operate while the first heater and second heater operate.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing a parental level of an optical disc can allow a user to set a parental level of a data stream recorded and stored on a rewritable optical disc or write-once optical disc, and can record and manage the set parental level as navigation information such as for the optical discs. The method and apparatus allow the user to conveniently set or change the parental level of the data stream, refer to the parental level recorded and managed therefore, and carry out a parental locking operation such that children or teenagers cannot arbitrarily reproduce a data stream of an adult program. Further, a parental grade code, a supplemental parental grade code or if the parental code was generated using parental management information previously supplied by the user can be determined. Accordingly, an authorized user can determine whether the previous set grade code is changed illegally.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention includes a technique to attach a wireless antenna to a consumer electronics (CE) device. A removable bezel holds a display assembly of the CE device. An antenna attachment mechanism integrated to the removable bezel at a pre-determined location to allow connection to a radio frequency (RF) communication circuit internal to the CE device. The antenna attachment mechanism is adapted for attachment to a wireless antenna used in a wireless transmission. In another embodiment, a wireless antenna is integrated within the removable bezel at a pre-determined location. The wireless antenna is coupled to the RF communication circuit for a wireless transmission. In yet another embodiment, an antenna assembly is attached to the removable bezel at a pre-determined location. The antenna assembly has a wireless antenna coupled to the RF communication circuit for a wireless transmission.

Abstract: The present invention relates to forcibly downloading a program in a mobile communications terminal. Preferably, a memory of the terminal is divided into a boot binary region and a main binary region. A boot program and a main program of a binary program are then downloaded to the boot binary region and the main binary region, respectively. Whether the downloading of the binary program is successful or not is then recorded in a particular address of the memory. After, it is determined whether to enter a forcible download mode by checking a value of the particular address.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a carbon heater. The carbon heater comprises a carbon filament disposed in a tube for serving as a heating element. The carbon filament has support parts integrally formed at the carbon filament while being protruded from the carbon filament in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the carbon filament such that the support parts are supported inside the tube. Consequently, the carbon filament is more stably supported in the tube by the support parts, whereby the service life of the carbon heater is increased, and easy and convenient design and assembly of the carbon heater is accomplished.

Abstract: A memory module assembly includes a heat-sink plate attached to one or more of the integrated circuits (e.g., memory devices) of a memory module PCBA by adhesive. The heat-sink plate includes an elongated base structure, a first contact plate extending away from the base structure such that a step-like positioning surface is defined therebetween, and heat-exchange fins extending from the opposite side of the base structure. An optional upper heat-sink plate is secured to a second side of the PCBA by a second adhesive layer, and contacts the lower heat-sink plate to facilitate heat transfer to the heat-exchange fins. The adhesive is either heat-activated or heat-cured. The adhesive is applied to either the memory devices or the heat-sink plates, and then compressed between the heat-sink plates and memory module using a fixture. The fixture is then passed through an oven to activate/cure the adhesive.

Abstract: A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including a plurality of data electrodes arranged in parallel to each other, and a data driver. The data driver applies a driving voltage to the plurality of data electrodes. The data driver includes a first connector and a second connector positioned at opposite edges of the plasma display panel, respectively. The first connector is electrically connected to some of the plurality of data electrodes, and the second connector is electrically connected to the date electrodes which are not connected to the first connector.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display panel. The plasma display panel includes black matrices formed in a front substrate, and first barrier ribs, which are formed opposite to the black matrices on a rear substrate and partition pixel cells. The first barrier ribs have a width wider than that of the black matrices. Even if misalignment occurs during a process of adhering substrates, the black matrices do not protrude into discharge spaces. Therefore, the defective ratio can be lowered and the picture quality can be improved.

The plasma display apparatus may include a plasma display panel including first and second address electrode groups that correspond to first and second screen regions, respectively, and that match each other. First data drive ICs may include channels connected to the first address electrode group. Second data drive ICs may include channels connected to the second address electrode group. An nth channel of the first data drive ICs from one side of the first screen region may be a dummy channel, an nth channel from the other side of the first screen region may be a dummy channel, and an nth channel of the second data drive ICs from one side of the second screen region, which matches the one side of the first screen region, may also be a dummy channel.

Abstract: The present invention is related to transmitting quality of service (QoS) information of a target base station for admitting service flows during a handover operation. The invention comprises providing a service to a mobile station from a serving base station and receiving at the serving base station a handover request from the mobile station. The serving base station then provides a handover notification to a target base station, wherein the handover notification comprises a QoS parameter associated with the service. The serving base station then receives from the target base station a handover notification response, wherein the handover notification response comprises service level prediction information that is determined in response to the QoS parameter associated with the service. Finally, the serving base station provides a handover response to the mobile station, the handover response comprising the service level prediction information.
