Abstract: A PWM buffer circuit includes a duty cycle converting circuit and a frequency-fixed PWM signal generating circuit. The duty cycle converting circuit is used for receiving a first PWM signal and then generating a duty cycle reference voltage on the basis of the first PWM signal. The duty cycle reference voltage is a one-to-one mapping function of the first duty cycle. The frequency-fixed PWM signal generating circuit is used for receiving the duty cycle reference voltage and then outputting a second PWM signal with a fixed frequency. The second PWM signal has a second duty cycle, which is determined in accordance with the duty cycle reference voltage. In addition, the second duty cycle is a one-to-one mapping function of the duty cycle reference voltage.
Abstract: A method of performing HARQ performed by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a bundling indicator which indicates the number of bundled downlink subframes, determining whether at least one bundled downlink subframe is missed by comparing the bundling indicator with the number of detected bundled downlink subframes, generating a representative ACK/NACK signal when no bundled downlink subframe is missed, and transmitting the representative ACK/NACK signal on an uplink channel. Recovery capability is maximized and the packet loss is reduced in such a situation that less number of ACK/NACK signals are fed back than that of downlink packets.

Abstract: The invention discloses an apparatus for converting gray scale. The apparatus includes a receiving module, an encoding module, and a decoding module. The receiving module is used for receiving an input image, wherein the input image has an N-bit first gray level. The encoding module is used for selectively calculating a first color level based on both M higher bits and T lower bits of the first gray level, and then calculating a second color level and a third color level based on M higher bits of the first gray level. The decoding module is used for converting the first, second, and third color levels into an N-bit second gray level by using a gray scale conversion formula.

Abstract: Device and method for displaying a PIP on a TV, the method including the steps of (a) generating a PIP if a user selects a PIP mode, generating menus for the generated PIP in a form of an OSD, displaying the generated PIP and PIP menus on the same time, (d) if a user desired menu is selected from the displayed menus, controlling according to the selected menu, and displaying the PIP and the PIP menu according to the control, whereby providing a variety for PIP window screens according to user's requirements owing to the simultaneous movement of the PIP screen and the PIP menu, and permitting the user to obtain desired information easily when the user identifies the picture source and selects the PIP, owing to the display of relevant source control information and PIP control information in a form of rim information, if the TV is used, with a variety of external devices connected thereto.
Abstract: A video decoding system is provided. When a DDR SDRAM is used as an external memory, MBs are rearranged and then stored to minimize memory access operations for the MBs at the DDR SDRAM and unnecessary additional word read operations caused by a DDR characteristic. Accordingly, the video decoding system can efficiently perform a memory access operation on MBs for video display and frame decoding by the video decoder. Specifically, the decoding system can reduce the total video decoding time, thereby allowing a surplus memory use time for additional functions of a digital broadcasting receiver.
Abstract: A switching system. The switching system includes an optical component, an electromagnetic switch, an auxiliary adjustment structure, and a control circuit. The optical component reflects or refracts a light. The electromagnetic switch, on one side of the optical component, controls the optical component to rotate or move in a direction. The auxiliary adjustment structure, on the optical component, controls the optical component to rotate or move in other direction. The control circuit, coupled to the electromagnetic switch, adjusts an on-off signal of the electromagnetic switch by a native frequency of the switching system, wherein the native frequency is obtained from an initial signal.
Abstract: A force sensing resistor (FSR) includes a substrate having separated electrically conductive traces and another substrate having a resistive layer in which the substrates are subjected to a biasing force such that the substrates contact one another with the resistive layer electrically connecting the traces with a resistance inversely dependent on the biasing force. Upon an external force applied towards a substrate, the substrates contact one another with a total force which is the sum of the forces with the resistive layer electrically connecting the traces with a resistance inversely dependent on the total force. An FSR output which is a function of the resistance is measured. Whether a change in magnitude of the FSR output during a time interval is greater than a threshold is determined. A touch applied on the FSR is detected during the time interval if the change is greater than the threshold.
Abstract: In a player, for example, when a memory card is loaded as a removable medium during playback of a CD, an audio-output-source selecting unit switches the output state to playback of the memory card in normal operation. However, in a case in which a medium-loading detecting unit detects that a memory card is not loaded at the time when a request for recording on the memory card is entered during the playback of a CD, and a medium-loading-time detecting unit detects that the memory card is loaded within a predetermined time, the audio-output-source selecting unit immediately starts recording on the memory card without switching the output state to the playback of the memory card.
Abstract: A multimedia stream head end includes a legacy conditional access (CA) device that fully encrypts the stream using legacy keys. A copy of the stream is sent to a secondary CA device that encrypts only critical packets in the stream using secondary keys to render a partially encrypted stream. The critical packets in the fully encrypted stream from the legacy CA device are obtained and inserted next to the corresponding critical packets in the partially encrypted stream. Thus, only critical packets are encrypted, with encrypted versions being generated by both the legacy CA and secondary CA without the legacy CA knowing which of the packets that it encrypts are “critical”.

Abstract: A method for effectively transmitting/receiving a codeword in a MIMO system is disclosed. In a system including a plurality of predetermined rank structures, a reception end transmits rank information (RI), precoding matrix index (PMI), and channel quality information (CQI) of each codeword to a transmission end. The transmission end selects a rank structure on the basis of information received from the reception end. The transmission end selects only some codeword blocks among a plurality of codeword blocks available for the selected rank structure, transmits signals via the selected codeword blocks, and transmits a null signal for the non-selected codeword blocks.
