  • Patent number: 5584552
Abstract: To correct the size of an image projected on a screen surface that is at an oblique angle to a line of projection of a projector, the image is corrected by manual or automatic angular position adjustment of a LCD panel or a mirror. A device for adjusting the image size includes a detector for projecting infrared rays into the screen over a range of projection angles and sensing the amount of infrared rays reflected by the screen. A controller determines a correction angle that is equal to the oblique angle between the screen and the line of projection by observing when the sensed reflected infrared rays reach a maximum amount. A driver, responsive to the controller, then adjusts the angular position of the LCD panel or the mirror by the magnitude of the correction angle, such as to adjust the line of projection into orthogonal relation with the screen.

  • Patent number: 5585302
Abstract: A semiconductor device having tungsten strapped gate electrodes and source/drain regions and a polysilicon resistor. The gate electrodes and the polysilicon resistors are all formed from the same layer of polysilicon by initially coating the deposited polysilicon layer with an insulating layer and subsequently a layer of phosphorus doped silicon glass. The electrodes and resistor areas are formed by selectively etching the silicon glass and the polysilicon. This leaves the electrode polysilicon and the resistor polysilicon coated with the phosphorous doped glass. Spacers are then provided along the electrode and the glass removed only from above the gate electrode polysilicon leaving the resistor coated with the phosphorus doped silicon glass and silicon nitride. Tungsten then can be selectively deposited upon the gate electrode and along adjacent source and drain regions.

  • Patent number: 5585755
Abstract: Audio bus receiver includes a pair of bipolar transistors each having a base coupled via a respective resistor to a respective bus receiver input terminal, each having an emitter that is diode coupled to a respective current source and each having a collector coupled via a respective load resistor to a source of reference potential. The emitters are coupled together via a gain control resistor and the collectors are coupled to an output terminal via a differential amplifier. Advantageously, the receiver avoids loading the bus under power-down conditions without requiring the use of stand-by power supplies. Additionally, high common mode rejection is achieved without need for precision matching of components and only a single supply voltage is required for operation.

  • Patent number: 5578916
Abstract: A voltage regulator is switchable between a lower regulated DC output voltage and a higher regulated DC output voltage. Foldback current limiting is actuated in response to the current drawn by the load when a current limiting threshold is exceeded. The current limiting threshold is determined by the voltage relationship at respective taps of a pair of voltage dividers, with said relationship being effected by the voltage appearing across a current sensing resistor coupled in series with the load. The current limiting threshold is adjusted to be approximately the same for both the lower and the higher regulated DC output voltages. This adjustment is accomplished with a non-linear voltage dependent device, which is coupled to one of the voltage dividers, and is actuated in the higher output voltage mode.

  • Patent number: 5577039
Abstract: A system for cross conversion of plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) data is disclosed. A PDH DS3 signal is received and demultiplexed into 28 DS1 data. ATM adaptation layer modules convert the 28 DS1 data to ATM cell streams. The ATM cell streams are multiplexed into a single ATM MUX cell stream and then multiplexed with another cell stream. A router receives the combined multiplexed cell stream, adds a header field, and outputs an ATM cell. The system functions to also convert the ATM cell data to DS3 PDH data using the same basic components.
