Abstract: A system for high impedance bus protection that includes a safety module to divert excess current away from a protective element of an intelligent electronic device. The safety module may include a variable resistor and a bypass relay in parallel across secondaries of one or more current transformers. The bypass relay may be configured to close upon detection of excess current through the secondaries to divert the excess current away from the variable resistor and the protective element.

Abstract: A battery-powered electric polisher for treating concrete has the operational form of a self-propelled riding trowel. A rigid frame mounts a pair of rotors that descend into contact with the concrete surface. Hydraulic tilting circuits for polisher steering control are activated with joysticks. An electrically driven hydraulic pump powers the tilting circuits. Each rotor drives a lower, circular drive ring comprising a plurality of spokes. Drive ring spokes are nested within rigid channels defined in a lower a support plate so that the latter is removable. A plurality of radially spaced-apart abrasion devices descend from the support plate into contact with the concrete surface.
Abstract: A printing method and a printing device are provided to reduce a difference in a degree of wet-spreading of a coating material. The printing method includes: a buffer layer forming step of forming, when there is a difference between a surface free energy of a print object which is an object to be printed and a surface free energy of a coating material applied to a surface of the print object, a buffer layer on the surface of the print object with a buffer material having a surface free energy differing from that of the print object or the coating material; and a printing step of printing by applying the coating material to the buffer layer.
Abstract: A fiber optic communication system may include a transmitting subsystem, a receiving subsystem, a power monitoring subsystem, a temperature monitoring subsystem, an alarm subsystem, and a data logging subsystem. The transmitting subsystem may be configured to transmit optical signals encoding data into an optical path. The receiving subsystem may be configured to receive the optical signals transmitted by the transmitting subsystem and decode the data encoded in the optical signal. The power monitoring subsystem may be configured to measure a power of the optical signal during normal operations. The temperature monitoring subsystem may monitor the temperature of the fiber optic communication system at various locations. The alarm subsystem may generate an alarm if the system operates outside of certain thresholds. The data logging subsystem may log the measured temperatures and optical signal power of the fiber optic communication system.

The vibration isolator can be operatively positioned such that, when the one or more movable body members change configuration responsive to a load being applied to the bicycle saddle, the one or more movable body members can engage the vibration isolator. As a result, the vibration isolator can isolate a person seated on the bicycle saddle from vibrations transferred through the bicycle saddle.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and a method for simulating formation and evolution of a deep-sea cold seep ecosystem.
