  • Patent number: 9178352
Abstract: A protection and attenuation circuit for sensitive AC loads is described. The circuit provides AC power protection and attenuation utilizing high-efficiency switch-mode techniques to attenuate an AC power signal by incorporating a bidirectional, transistorized switch driven from a pulse width modulation signal, PWM. The circuit monitors characteristics of the AC power signal driving a known load and characteristics of the load or other elements and determines the duty cycle of the pulse width modulated signal, PWM, based upon the duration and amplitude of the over-voltage, over-current, over-limit or other event.

  • Patent number: 9178386
Abstract: A state-matrix-independent dynamic process estimation method in real-time for weakly observable measurement nodes without Phasor Measurement Unit(PMU) is only dependent on real-time measurement dynamic data of measurement nodes with PMU and measurement data of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system in electric power system or state estimation data. According to the SCADA measurement data or state estimation data at some continuous moments, the method utilizes recursive least squares solution to find a linear combination relationship between variation of measurement parameter to be estimated of nodes without PMU and variation of corresponding measurement parameter of nodes with PMU. Using the linear combination of relationship, the dynamic process of measurement nodes without PMU is estimated in real-time. The method provides high estimation precision and meets error requirements of engineering application.

  • Patent number: 9178480
Abstract: Systems and methods for audio difference detection include a memory component that stores logic that, when executed by a processor, causes a vehicle amplifier to receive a test input signal for a generic test sequence to determine a standard input signal for producing a desired output response signal, store the standard input signal with standard amplifier settings associated with the standard input signal, and receive an audio signal from a head unit of the vehicle, where the head unit is part of the vehicle audio system for the vehicle in which the vehicle amplifier is utilized. In some embodiments, the logic causes the vehicle amplifier to determine whether there is a difference between the audio signal and the standard input signal and in response to determining there is a difference, and adjust vehicle amplifier settings of the vehicle amplifier, such that vehicle speakers output the desired output response signal.

  • Publication number: 20150312023
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a variety of systems and methods for correcting for propagation delay in time signals used in connection with an electric power generation and delivery system. According to various embodiments, a device consistent with the present disclosure may determine an estimated propagation delay between an accurate time source and a receiving device. The propagation delay may be determined based on a variety of transmission parameters including, for example, communication channel type and/or length. A corrected time signal may be generated by advancing a reference incitation such as an “on-time” reference and/or “start-of-second” reference included in the time signal by an amount associated with the propagation delay. The corrected time signal may then be transmitted to the receiving device.
