  • Patent number: 10286438
Abstract: A die cushion-cum-slide cushion device selectively opens and closes a flow channel between a hydraulic pump/motor driven by a servo motor, and hydraulic cylinders that generate slide cushion force, or a flow channel between the hydraulic pump/motor, and hydraulic cylinders that generate die cushion force, by switching a selector valve. Before applying the slide cushion force is started, the servo motor is controlled to allow the hydraulic cylinders to generate required slide cushion force through a check valve. While the slide cushion force is applied, hydraulic circuits, each of which includes a logic valve, control pressure of the hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic circuits, each of which includes the servo motor, control die cushion pressure of the hydraulic cylinders.

  • Patent number: 10287215
Abstract: A method for the joining of ceramic pieces with a hermetically sealed joint comprising brazing a layer of joining material between the two pieces. The wetting and flow of the joining material is controlled by the selection of the joining material, the joining temperature, the joining atmosphere, and other factors. The ceramic pieces may be on a non-diffusable type, such as aluminum nitride, alumina, beryllium oxide, and zirconia, and the pieces may be brazed with an aluminum alloy under controlled atmosphere. The joint material is adapted to later withstand both the environments within a process chamber during substrate processing, and the oxygenated atmosphere which may be seen within the shaft of a heater or electrostatic chuck.

  • Patent number: 10287516
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for block operation during lubricant and/or fuels production from deasphalted oil. During “block” operation, a deasphalted oil and/or the hydroprocessed effluent from an initial processing stage can be split into a plurality of fractions. The fractions can correspond, for example, to feed fractions suitable for forming a light neutral fraction, a heavy neutral fraction, and a bright stock fraction, or the plurality of fractions can correspond to any other convenient split into separate fractions. The plurality of separate fractions can then be processed separately in the process train (or in the sweet portion of the process train) for forming fuels and/or lubricant base stocks. The separate processing can allow for selection of conditions for forming lubricant fractions, such as bright stock fractions, that have a cloud point that is lower than the pour point.

  • Patent number: 10288128
Abstract: A clutch assembly that is less prone to overheating is disclosed. The clutch assembly includes a clutch housing, a shaft, and a clutch pack. The clutch pack includes a backing plate, an applied plate, a plurality of friction plates, and a plurality of reaction plates. A primary actuator applies pressure to the applied plate to longitudinally compress the entire clutch pack and couple rotation of the clutch housing and the shaft. A secondary actuator applies pressure to at least one plate in the plurality of friction plates and the plurality of reaction plates to longitudinally move the at least one plates independently of the applied plate. This relieves some of the torque transmitted across the clutch pack adjacent the applied plate and reduces localized temperature spikes in the clutch pack adjacent to the applied plate.

  • Patent number: 10288741
Abstract: The present application discloses detecting manipulation of GNSS signals using a second time source. If two or more GNSS constellation signals are being detected, the phase error between the GNSS constellation signals may be monitored. When the phase error drifts, then manipulation is determined. The integrity of a GNSS constellation signal may be monitored using an internal time source such as a crystal oscillator by monitoring a slope of the free running counter at the detected rising edges of a pulse-per-second signal from the GNSS constellation. If more than two GNSS constellations are monitored, a voting scheme may be used to determine the manipulated GNSS constellation.

  • Patent number: 10288189
Abstract: A pneumatic controller for connecting to a vacuum source and providing a vacuum output signal. The pneumatic controller includes a valve body defining a number of different chambers. At least two of the chambers that are separated by diaphragm and one of these chambers is maintained at vacuum pressure. In response to a pressure differential between the two chambers, the diaphragm deforms causing a valve to move from a first position, where an output port is coupled to atmospheric pressure, to a second position, where the output port is coupled to vacuum pressure. The valve is inhibited for moving between the first and second positions unless a sufficient vacuum pressure is present. Movement of the valve from the second position to the first position is also delayed until the two chambers are substantially equalized.

  • Publication number: 20190140441
Abstract: A method for fault positioning and recovery of a voltage source converter includes following steps. Locking a converter station when it is detected that an alternating-current voltage contains a zero sequence voltage or a direct-current voltage contains an unbalanced voltage. Positioning a fault by continuing to detect the zero sequence voltage of an alternating-current side of the converter. Recovering operation of each station after the fault is positioned. The method for fault positioning and recovery is simple, practical, has high reliability, and can effectively detect the problems that each station contains a zero sequence voltage of an alternating-current side and cannot easily position a fault caused due to transmission of the zero sequence voltage of the alternating-current side to an opposite-side alternating-current system via a voltage source converter.

  • Publication number: 20190137045
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for determining whether an acoustic event has occurred along a fluid conduit having acoustic sensors positioned therealong. The method uses a processor to, for each of the sensors, determine a predicted acoustic signal using one or more past acoustic signals measured prior to measuring a measured acoustic signal using the sensor; determine a prediction error between the measured acoustic signal and the predicted acoustic signal; from the prediction error, determine a power estimate of an acoustic source located along a longitudinal segment of the fluid conduit overlapping the sensor; and determine whether the power estimate of the acoustic source exceeds an event threshold for the sensor. When the power estimate of at least one of the acoustic sources exceeds the event threshold, the processor attributes the acoustic event to one of the sensors for which the power estimate of the acoustic source exceeds the event threshold.
