  • Patent number: 10012081
Abstract: A device usable as an impeller has a plurality of vanes rotating eccentrically about a shaft. Eccentric rotation is enabled by a cam mounted on the shaft. The vanes are received within slots in a rotor which surrounds the shaft and rotates about an axis coaxial with the shaft. The rotor rotates within a housing having a cylindrical surface facing the rotor. The surface is eccentric to the shaft. The vanes execute reciprocal motion upon rotation of the rotor. The vane motion is constrained so that the edges of the vanes remain proximate to the cylindrical surface during rotation.

  • Patent number: 10010862
Abstract: Implementations herein relate to a method for extraction of phthalates using hydrophilic magnetic resins with high specific surface areas. The implementations relate to a technical field of preparation of resins for fast enrichment and separation of trace organics in water. By adding magnetic particles, precursor resins may be prepared using divinylbenzene, vinyl benzoate and glycidyl methacrylate copolymerization ester. After the cross-linking reaction, surface areas of the resins are increased and hydrolysis of the ester group in alkaline solution may be implemented to obtain high specific surface magnetic resins rich in hydroxyl groups. The resins have higher adsorptive capacity and selectivity to adsorb phthalates in water samples. Rapid extraction may be implemented using magnetic solid phase extraction rod to achieve enrichment and separation of phthalates in a large amount of water samples.

  • Patent number: 10011777
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing a feed derived from a biomass source that contains nitrogen in the form of fatty amides, e.g., derived from hydrothermal processing of a biomass source feed, while reducing/minimizing the amount of heteroatom removal performed during subsequent/concurrent hydroprocessing. Optionally, the feed can also contain free fatty acids. This is accomplished in part by first exposing the feed to a catalyst comprising a rare earth oxide, alkali oxide, and/or alkaline earth oxide, which can remove the nitrogen heteroatoms from the compounds within the feed or can convert the nitrogen to a form readily removed in subsequent hydroprocessing. The catalyst may also suitable for catalyzing coupling (such as condensation) or conversion reactions of amides, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid derivatives, and/or other molecules in the feed suitable for participating in the coupling reaction.

  • Patent number: 10011285
Abstract: The autonomous vehicle visual language system displays a plan sentence to an operator of an autonomous vehicle. The plan sentence includes visual syntax, the visual syntax being images displayed in predetermined configurations to convey specific information associated with any maneuvers the autonomous vehicle plans to execute. The visual syntax allows for a structured layering of information such that the plan sentence can display more complex information. The operator of the autonomous vehicle can process individual warnings and information more quickly, even when the operator has never seen a particular warning or element of information before. Additionally, the system 100 allows for personalization of a driver model to more closely reflect the operator's driving style, which is then implemented in the visual language displayed as the plan sentence.

  • Patent number: 10011787
Abstract: Methods are provided for producing Group II and Group III base stocks with a controlled or consistent aromatics content. An aromatics-rich base stock, such as a Group I base stock or an alkylated aromatic base stock, can be added to the catalytically treated base stock in a minimal amount after the final catalytic treatment step but prior to fractionation. At the beginning of a processing run for forming lubricant base stock products, about 0.25 wt % to about 1.25 wt % of the Group I base stock can be added to a catalytically processed feed after the final catalytic processing stage but prior to fractionation to form the Group II and/or Group III base stock. During the course of the processing run, the amount of Group I base stock added can be reduced roughly in correspondence with the increase in aromatics caused by catalyst deactivation.
