Abstract: The present invention provides a peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity, a transmembrane carrier comprising the peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity as an effective component, a transmembrane complex consisting of the peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity combined with a target substance, a transfection kit comprising the peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity and the target substance, use of the peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity for the manufacture of a transmembrane complex, use of the transmembrane complex for the manufacture of a medicament, and a method for delivering a target substance into cell interior which comprises administrating to a subject with a transmembrane complex consisting of the peptide having cell membrane penetrating activity combined with a target substance to induce transduction of the transmembrane complex into cell interior.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetic memory cell, which controls the magnetization direction of the free magnetic layer of a Magnetic Tunnel Junction (MTJ) device using a spin torque transfer, and enables the implementation of a magnetic logic circuit, in which memory and logic circuit functions are integrated. The magnetic memory cell includes an MTJ device (10) including a top electrode (11) and a bottom electrode (13), which are provided to allow current to flow therethrough, and a fixed layer (15) and a free layer (17), which are magnetic layers respectively deposited on a top and a bottom of an insulating layer (19), required to insulate the top and bottom electrodes from each other. A current control circuit (50) controls a flow of current flowing between the top and bottom electrodes, and changes a magnetization direction of the free layer according to an input logic level.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and kit for diagnosing hereditary diseases CMT1A and HNPP, caused by duplication and deletion in the chromosome 17p11.2-p12 region. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a method for diagnosing an inherited neuropathy, comprising, running the PCR amplification using microsatellites present in a chromosome 17p11.2-p12 region as markers and DNA typing the resulting PCR amplification products to determine the presence of duplication and deletion in the corresponding chromosomal region, wherein Multiplex PCR amplification is carried out using 6 loci of D17S921, D17S9B, D17S9A, D17S918, D17S2230 and D17S4A as markers, and DNA-typing of the resulting PCR amplification products is carried out to determine duplication and deletion in the corresponding chromosomal region. In accordance with the method of the present invention, the diagnosis accuracy of detecting duplication and deletion in the chromosome 17p11.2-p12 region is greater than 99.9%.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and kits for measuring in situ the activity and amount of an enzyme in a sample using a single measurement system. The method includes the steps of: (a) contacting a sample to a capturing agent having the capacity to bind to the enzyme to be analyzed and immobilized on a solid matrix; (b) measuring the activity of the enzyme captured by the capturing agent; (c) contacting a detection antibody specific to the enzyme captured by the capturing agent; and (d) detecting an antigen-antibody complex formed in the step (c). There is no need for separate measurement system to measure the activity and amount of an enzyme, as well as the above methods and kits permit to measure the precise activity and amount of an enzyme simultaneously because the measurement of enzyme activity and amount is carried out in a single and same measurement system as to the same sample in almost simultaneous manner.

Abstract: The present invention provides a novel fluorescent chemosensor including a naphthalene diimide-Zn(II) complex, which can efficiently recognize pyrophosphate (PPi) at pH 7.4. The fluorescent chemosensor exhibits a new kind of excimer fluorescence, which is selective for PPi in 100% aqueous solution. Further, since the naphthalene diimide-Zn(II) complex of the present invention does not couple with inorganic phosphate (Pi) or adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and has high selectivity for PPi, it can be usefully used to detect pyrophosphate (PPi), which serves to transfer signals and store energy in living organisms.
