Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory disease, colorectal cancer and prostate cancer, which contains an A3 adenosine receptor agonist, 2-chloro-N6-(3-iodobenzyl)-4?-thioadenosine-5?-N-methyluronamide (thio-Cl-IB-MECA), N6-(3-iodobenzyl)-4?-thioadenosine-5?-N-methyluronamide (thio-IB-MECA), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The pharmaceutical composition of the invention is significantly less toxic than conventional A3 adenosine agonists, and thus is useful for prevention or treatment of inflammatory disease. In addition, it more selectively inhibits the growth of androgen receptor-dependent or independent prostate cancer cells than other A3 adenosine receptor agonists and thus is useful for prevention or treatment of colorectal cancer or prostate cancer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diseases related to abnormal proliferation of cells, comprising a cytoplasmic heat shock protein (Hsp)60 kDa inhibitor as an active ingredient, and to a screening method and a kit using the composition. According to the present invention, substances which inhibit expression of cytoplasmic Hsp 60 genes or inhibit activity of cytoplasmic Hsp 60 or inhibit binding between cytoplasmic Hsp 60 and IKK protein prevent interaction between cytoplasmic Hsp 60 and IKK complexes to make NF-?B path inactive, and thus induce apoptosis. Therefore, the substances can be valuably used in preventing or treating diseases related to abnormal proliferation of cells, such as cancer, inflammatory diseases or hyperproliferative vascular diseases.

Abstract: The present invention newly identified a missense mutation in the MYH14 gene as a cause responsible for a complex phenotype of peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, hearing loss, and hoarseness. Further, the present invention provides a method for diagnosing inherited neuromuscular disorders showing a complex phenotype of peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, hearing loss, and hoarseness via detection of the mutated MYH14 gene or the protein encoded thereby, and a diagnostic kit therefor. According to the present invention, simple examination of the gene allows early diagnosis of inherited neuromuscular disorders showing the complex phenotype of peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, hearing loss, and hoarseness, which shows high inheritance and is caused by a single gene defect, and accurate diagnosis of the disease makes it possible to tailor therapy.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of detecting collisions on a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Each collision detection object Oi is projected onto a reference direction, thus obtaining an interval Ii represented by a set {mi,Mi}. Radix sorting based on obtained mi for all Oi, thus obtaining a sorted list L. The sorted list is swept, and then colliding pairs P?are detected. All colliding pairs are configured into a single set, thus obtaining a final colliding pair P. On a GPU, SaP can be performed on a plurality of collision detection objects in parallel using the blocks of a plurality of threads.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of looking up an IP address using a Bloom filter and a multi-hashing architecture. The present invention generates a plurality of hashing indexes by hashing inputted prefixes, determines whether a bit vector corresponding to the plurality of hashing indexes is positive or negative by using the Bloom filter, and outputs a prefix matching the inputted prefix by searching entries of locations indicated by the plurality of hashing indexes in the hash table when the bit vector is determined to be positive. The present invention further outputs the prefix that matches the inputted prefix by searching entries stored in the overflow table.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a parallel collision detection method using load balancing in order to detect collision between two objects of a polygon soup. The parallel collision detection method is processed in parallel using a plurality of threads. The parallel collision detection method includes traversing a Bounding Volume Traversal Tree (BVTT) using Bounding Volume Hierarchies (BVHs) related to the polygon soup in a depth first search manner or a width first search manner; recursively traversing the children node of an internal node (a parent node) when a currently traversed node is the internal node and two Boundary Volumes (BVs) in the corresponding node overlap, and stopping to traverse the node when the currently traversed node is the internal node and two Boundary Volumes (BVs) do not overlap; and storing collision primitives in a leaf node when the currently traversed node is the leaf node and collision primitives in the leaf node overlap.
