Patent number: 4767224Abstract: A window cage for a cylindrical roller bearing includes a U-shaped cross section, annular cage having opposite cage rings which engage the ends of the rollers and webs joining the cage rings and extending between the rollers. The opposite sides of each web converge in the radial direction inwardly of the pocket recesses for the rollers. Therefore, spaced apart, opposing sides of two adjacent webs converge in the radial direction outwardly of the pocket recesses to engage a roller in the recess from behind. Radially outward beyond the converging surfaces, the web sides have generally parallel surfaces which are spaced apart slightly less than the diameter of the roller. Recesses are defined in the cage rings at the bottoms of the pocket recesses.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1987Date of Patent: August 30, 1988Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer (KGaA)Inventors: Anton Bauer, Siegbert Hahn

Patent number: 4759226Abstract: A device for measuring the tensile force on a thread includes a housing having thread guides at the points of inlet and outlet of the thread. A spring plate is mounted on the housing intermediate the thread guides and has a dumbbell-shaped guide member at its end for engaging the thread. The spring plate is so mounted that the tension on the thread displaces the spring plate from its initial unflexed position. Adjacent the guide member on the movable spring plate is a permanent magnet which moves with the spring plate as it displaces. A sensor employing the Hall effect is fixed to the housing at a given distance from the magnet. Movements by the magnet are detected by the Hall sensor, which produces an output signal indicative of the displacement of the spring plate, which signal is processed to give an indication of the thread tension.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1986Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer (KGaA)Inventor: Erwin Leurer

Patent number: 4717211Abstract: A wheel braking cylinder and an expandable chamber of a pressure modulator are connected in a spatially closed arrangement that is connected to an operator controlled master cylinder, with the chamber being interposed between the braking and master cylinders. When vehicle deceleration reaches an upper threshold, an electromagnet is actuated and the armature thereof operates to isolate the master cylinder from the chamber and expands the chamber to reduce pressure in the braking cylinder, thereby reducing deceleration. When deceleration reaches a lower threshold the electromagnet is de-energized so that force generated by the armature biasing spring acts to reduce the chamber volume, thereby increasing pressure in the braking cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1986Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer (KGa)Inventor: Adam Dittner
