  • Patent number: 6885278
Abstract: A surface-mount microconverter is formed by mounting a microinductor chip and a semiconductor integrated circuit chip on a circuit board. Stud terminals are arranged on the circuit board and the microinductor chip is supported on the stud terminals, and the microinductor chip and the semiconductor integrated circuit chip are superposed on the circuit board. The microconverter has an improved ability and is small and thin. The microconverter includes an effective laminated magnetic-core inductor. The inductor comprises a helical coil formed by uniting alternately superposed insulating magnetic layers and conductive pattern layers, and an annular closed magnetic path formed by the insulating magnetic layers and defining a magnetic field created by the coil. The inductor can be miniaturized in a thin chip, and a wide range in which magnetic flux density varies linearly can be secured by balancing a closed magnetic path for a magnetic field created by the coil.

  • Patent number: 6800215
Abstract: A Ni type ferrite material of a low magnetic loss. The Ni type ferrite material is formed by adding MnO2 in an amount of 0.1 to 10 mol % to a ferrite material of a composition containing Fe2O3 in 40 to 50 mol %, ZnO in 20 to 33 mol %, CuO in 2 to 10 mol %, and NiO in the remainder. Such Ni type ferrite material is adapted for use in a coil component as a core material because of a smaller magnetic loss in comparison with a prior material, and has a high electric resistance to allow direct coil winding on the core, thereby realizing reduction in both size and weight of the coil component.

  • Patent number: 6515561
Abstract: A connecting structure for high frequency circuits is provided, with which components can be readily replaced, and which does not require high assembly accuracy and is applicable in a broad band. First and second circuit boards each having strip lines on top surfaces thereof are placed to secure a gap therebetween. Patch portions each constituting a resonator are formed by extending the width of the strip lines, and a supporting member of a foam material is placed on the top of the patch portion formed on the first circuit board. A parasitic element made of a dielectric material is cantilevered by the supporting member. The free end side of the parasitic element is placed above the patch portion formed on the second circuit board while securing a predetermined space between the parasitic element and this patch portion. A strong electrical connection is established by the parasitic element that electromagnetically couples non-continuing portions, thereby making it possible to cut a direct current.
