    Abstract: A system for artificial stimulation of the heart of a subject is provided, the system comprising a controller comprising a receiver for receiving signal data, a processor for processing received signal data, and a transmitter for transmitting signal data; a sensing stent for location in the proximal coronary sinus of the subject, the sensing stent electrode comprising a sensing electrode assembly for sensing atrial and/or ventricular signals from the heart of the subject and a transmitting assembly for transmitting signal data to the receiver of the controller; and a stimulation stent for location in a vein of the subject distal of the sensing stent, the stimulation stent comprising a receiver for receiving signal data from the transmitter of the controller and an electrode assembly for providing a stimulating electrical signal to the heart of the subject in response to the data received.

    Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for cerebral diagnosis. In one example, among others, a method includes obtaining EEG signals from sensors positioned on a subject; conditioning data from the EEG signals to remove artifacts; generating a cerebral network model based at least in part upon the conditioned data; determining network features based upon the cerebral network model; and determining a cerebral condition of the subject based at least in part upon the network features. In another example, a method includes determining a recording condition of a positioned EEG sensor and providing an indication of an unacceptable recording condition of the EEG sensor. In another example, a system includes an EEG recording module to acquire signals; a signal conditioning module to condition signal data; a signal analysis module to determine signal features and cerebral network features; and a condition classification module to determine a cerebral condition of the subject.

Also provided are methods of using the prosthetic device to reduce thrombosis formation in patients with VAD support.

    Abstract: The ability of a receiver to determine when a transmitter has changed location is important for energy conservation in wireless sensor networks, for physical security of radio tagged objects, and for wireless network security in detection of replication attacks. In embodiments of the present invention, a measured temporal link signature is determined to uniquely identify the link between a transmitter and a receiver. The temporal link signature is an impulse response of a transmitted signal from the transmitter over a channel between the transmitter and a receiver over a channel. When the transmitter changes location, or if an attacker at a different location assumes the identity of the transmitter, the proposed link distinction methodology reliably detects the change in the physical channel. This detection can be performed at a single receiver or collaboratively by multiple receivers.

With this configuration, it is possible to prevent incorrect detection of the position of the sound source or paralalia due to a time delay which is produced in the wireless binaural hearing device and reduce noises due to a time difference between both hearing devices, thereby providing a binaural hearing device with high quality.

    Abstract: An OPO is disclosed capable of rapid frequency tuning by non-mechanical means. The OPO includes a resonant cavity including one or more non-linear crystals in an optical path thereof. A pump laser pulse is transmitted into the resonant cavity simultaneously with a seed beam having a desired wavelength. The output beam from the resonant cavity has the same center wavelength as the seed beam. The wavelength of the seed beam may be modulated at a frequency larger than the pulse rate of the pump laser or larger than the inverse of the pulse duration. The OPO disclosed may be used to perform DIAL analysis wherein intra-pulse modulation of an output beam is used to obtain measurements of absorption at multiple frequencies for each pulse of a pump beam.
