  • Patent number: 6212373
Abstract: A mobile telecommunication station which is connected to a mobile telecommunication network and is provided with a mobile telecommunication service from the network function enabling unit (for example a voice coding unit) is provided with a function masked in advance, and is enabled by release of the mask and a masking control unit. The masking control unit watches predetermined air interface information (for example a broadcast information) from the mobile telecommunication network, and releases the mask of the function enabling unit according to an instruction, in extended information elements thereof, for releasing the mask. A half rate mobile telecommunication unit capable of increasing, for example, a channel capacity can therefore be released on the market early without waiting for the completion of the entire system on the network side. When the network side system is completed, the potential half rate functions of the mobile telecommunication unit are revealed all at once.

  • Patent number: 6209064
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and method for a message protocol to extend cache coherence management of scalable shared memory multiprocessing computer systems having a plurality of processors connected to an interconnection over which the plurality of processors communicate with each other. Each processor communicates with other interconnection processors by sending and receiving messages on the interconnection by means of a messaging protocol which can be used for shared-memory computer systems, shared nothing computer systems, and hybrid computer systems in which some processors are sharing memory while others are not. With this invention a processor node is able to tell whether an incoming message is from within the same coherence group (in which case it is completely unprotected) or whether it is from outside the coherence group (in which case the shared-nothing protections apply).

  • Patent number: 6208556
Abstract: An address transition signal generator for a dual bank flash memory device is disclosed. The generator includes signal transition detectors which monitor control signals of the device for transitions in their logical values. Upon detection of a signal transition, the transition detectors send a signal across equidistant signal paths to bank address transition detect signal generator circuits. This results in simultaneous generation of the address transition detect signal from each of the bank address transition detect signal generator circuits.

  • Patent number: 6209057
Abstract: In a storage device in which data is read ahead and stored in a cache memory during reading of data from a medium, a data buffer is managed so that the probability that data to be read is found in the cache memory will improve. The memory area in the cache memory is divided so that a DIR-associated data buffer area used to store a leading address and file name of each file, a FAT-associated data buffer area used to store an address of each file in the next sector, and a data division-associated data buffer area used to store data can all be defined. Addresses referring to the FAT-associated data buffer area and DIR-associated data buffer area are fixed. As a result, as more and more data is read, more and more valid data corresponding to the data residing in the FAT and DIR in a storage medium is found in the cache memory. Consequently, when data reading is requested, data can be transferred without the necessity of reading the storage medium. This results in a shortened reading time.

  • Patent number: 6208667
Abstract: A constant phase crossbar switch system which avoids phase discontinuities at the outputs of the crossbar switch. The crossbar switch system includes input logic, a crossbar switch, output logic and a phase locked loop. The phase locked loop is used to generate a high speed internal clock from a system clock. High speed serial data streams transmitted at the internal clock frequency are received from corresponding transmitters and are coupled to the input logic. The input logic generates multiple versions of each serial data stream, one of the versions being undelayed and the other versions delayed by some fraction of a bit time. State machines are employed to selects the version of the serial data stream which results in the data stream data window being generally centered with respect to the high speed internal clock. The selected version of the data stream is employed as the active input to the crossbar switch.

  • Patent number: 6208571
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device comprises a detecting unit and a testing unit. The detecting unit detects a plurality of times a state of a predetermined terminal when the power is switched on, and activates the testing unit when all results of the detections show expected values. The device shifts to a connection testing mode by activation of the testing unit, and performs predetermined testing. Therefore, the testing can be performed by causing the device to shift to the testing mode without using terminals dedicated to testing. Besides, a shift to the connection testing mode by activation due to an erroneous operation or power-supply noise is prevented from occurring. In another semiconductor memory device the conversion circuit receives parallel testing patterns via a plurality of input terminals and converts the patterns into serial output patterns.

  • Patent number: 6206286
Abstract: A double-reading preventive control processing unit, when demodulated data corresponding to a whole bar code is obtained in an M10-OK buffer, notifies a reading-OK processing unit of this demodulated data on condition that a double-reading preventive timer is not actuated, stores a single-reading multi-stage buffer with this demodulated data, and actuates the double-reading preventive timer. The single-reading multi-stage buffer is capable of storing plural demodulated data in sequence from the latest one, of which the reading-OK processing unit has been notified. When demodulated data is newly obtained before the double-reading preventive timer makes a time-up, the double-reading preventive control unit checks whether or not the new demodulated data is identical with the demodulated data stored in the single-reading multi-stage buffer. When identical, this new piece of demodulated data is discarded.

  • Patent number: 6208561
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for reducing capacitive loading in a Flash memory X-decoder so as to accurately control the voltages as selected wordlines and block select lines are provided. A decoding structure separately applies a first boosted voltage to the wordline N-well region and a second boosted voltage to the selected wordline so as to reduce capacitive loading on the selected wordline due to heavy capacitive loading associated with the wordline N-well region. The decoding structure further applies a third boosted voltage to the select gate N-well region and a fourth boosted voltage to the block select line so as to reduce capacitive loading on the block select line due to heavy capacitive loading associated with the select gate N-well region. As a consequence, an accurate voltage can be created quickly at the selected wordline since its capacitive loading path is very small.
