Abstract: A vehicle stowage assembly including a storage compartment defining an opening to permit access to the compartment. A door is movably mounted proximate the opening. An actuator is operably connected to the door to move the door from an open position to a closed position. After the door has been opened, the actuator automatically closes the door after a predefined period of time has passed from the time at which the door was opened. The stowage assembly may include a mechanical timer or an electronic controller. The actuator may comprise a spring that biases the door towards the closed position, or the actuator may comprise an electric motor or other powered actuator. • Publication number: 20150360610
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving vehicle wrong-way detection including systems, sensors or features, such as those for system/network clocks, ambient light, driver impairment, automatic cruise control, blind spot warning or configurable vehicle security, either singly or in any combination therewith, may refine and/or modify the confidence level of detecting particular or potential wrong-way incidents. By modifying the confidence level, the system may change the system sensitivity by moving the cutoff point at which an alert activation takes place. The systems described above can modify the wrong-way detection sensitivity. Greater confidence, or system sensitivity, may also help enable the system to take further actions beyond a simple warning. At greater confidence levels, the system could intervene, by way of a non-limiting example, with throttle limiting, turning on the hazard lights or even bringing the vehicle to a stop.

  • Patent number: 9211598
Abstract: A trim tool for trimming a part having a complex shape. The trim tool defines a plurality of electro-hydraulic cavities that are separated by walls in a lower die of the trim tool. Electrodes are discharged in the electro-hydraulic cavities to drive the panel into engagement with a trim steel edge. The discharge of the electrode severs the panel above the cavity and also across a portion of a wall separating adjacent cavities. Discharging an electrode in an adjacent cavity completes the trim operation above the wall.
