Publication number: 20230358621Abstract: A combination of lookup tables for waveforms and several scaling and delay factors to accurately simulate touch and collision transducer sensor output without the complexity of solving the classical wave equation or performing convolutions in the frequency domain. TACT, as used herein, is a touch and collision transducer sensor used for detecting collisions. When the vehicle collides with an object a wave will be generated by the touch and collision transducer sensors. The waveform can take many forms depending on various parameter. Pre-recorded waveforms can be used to simulate the collisions and produce appropriate outputs. However, the present disclosure contemplates more complex, diverse waveforms which can be produced based on the existing pre-recorded libraries. To this end, simulated waveforms can be produced by scaling, filtering, delaying and combining with road noise, based on the impact material and contact area, at least in part.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2022Publication date: November 9, 2023Applicant: GM Cruise Holdings LLCInventors: Amanda Lind, Amin Aghaei, Jin Hao, Jason Edward Foat

Patent number: 11807268Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling an autonomous vehicle are described. A trajectory planner module provides a first trajectory to a trajectory control module. The trajectory control module determines parameters of the first trajectory. The trajectory control module compares the parameters to a respective threshold value. The trajectory control module obtains one or more alternative trajectories, determines parameters of each alternative trajectory, and compares the parameters of the alternative trajectory to a respective threshold value. The trajectory control module selects a trajectory for controlling the autonomous vehicle that has parameters which are within a range defined by the threshold values and controls the autonomous vehicle based on the selected trajectory. Thus, before handing back control to a driver, the trajectory control module selects from alternate trajectories for controlling the autonomous vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2021Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Sami Ahmed, Kevin A. Patent number: 11807263Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to causing presentation on a user interface of an immediate portion of a navigation route of an autonomous vehicle. A computing system of the autonomous vehicle determines whether an object detected by sensor(s) of the autonomous vehicle proximate to the immediate portion of the navigation route are of a type and relative position defined as one of consequential and inconsequential for a human passenger. In response to determining that an object has both a type and relative position defined as consequential, the computing system causes presentation on the user interface a representation of the object relative to the immediate portion of the navigation route to provide a confidence engendering indication that the autonomous vehicle has detected the object. Otherwise if inconsequential, presentation on the user interface of any representation of the object is not caused by the computing system to avoid creating a confusing presentation.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2023Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Stephanie Olivia Engle, Mariya Jacobo, Jacqueline Mary Shannon, David Hyon Berrios, Tejeswara Reddy Pogula, John Logan Anderson, Divya Thakur

Patent number: 11809309Abstract: Software code is tested to determine relative performance of the software code. Successfully executing a test may be used to flag problems in a code repository to be corrected or criteria for accepting code for acceptance to the repository. To further evaluate test results, the test may be run several times on the same code version to determine a test result stability score describing how the test results may vary in different executions, such as a frequency that the code passes the test. Based on the score, additional tests may be run to further refine test result stability score. To evaluate time-variance of testing, when a code version fails a test, a previous version of the code may be run with the same test and the results compared to determine if a new regression was introduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2021Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: GM CRUISE HOLDINGS LLCInventor: Eben M Freeman
