    Abstract: A vehicle is received in a stationary controlled area of a controlled testing environment. Simulation inputs corresponding to a simulated scene are generated and transmitted to the vehicle. The vehicle applies torque in response. A vehicle control mechanism of the controlled testing environment, such as a chassis dynamometer, a motorized treadmill, or a lift, keeps the vehicle within the stationary controlled area during the test despite the torque applied by the vehicle. A path of the vehicle within the simulated scene is determined based on the applied torque, based upon which the vehicle's navigation system is calibrated.

The system includes a controller configured to: acquire an image frame, having a fixed-pixel region that defines a region-of-interest, from one or more imaging devices; apply image processing techniques to determine a modified fixed-pixel region that excludes non-relevant object pixels; alter one or more image quality parameters based on statistics of pixels in the modified fixed-pixel region; and provide the altered one or more image quality parameters to the one or more imaging devices for use with subsequent image frames; wherein the one or more imaging devices produce an image that is tuned, based on the altered one or more image quality parameters, to the portions of the image in the region-of-interest that does not include the non-relevant object pixels.

The security ECU module uses the first GUID value to establish a first encrypted communication link with the first subsystem ECU module.

The automated driving controller receives, from the towing taxi, a current data string including a data point corresponding to a current point in time in combination with a predicted data point for each of one or more predicted points of time in the future. The current data string is compared with a previous data string recorded at a previous point in time. In response to determining the current data string matches the previous data string, the automated driving controller determines one or more driving maneuvers for the autonomous vehicle based on the current data string.

The controller also detects a predetermined electrical fault condition of the contactor switch using the characteristic values, and executes a control action in response to the electrical fault condition. The control action includes opening the semi-conductor switch to thereby interrupt a flow of current between the first and second battery packs. A mobile platform includes road wheels connected to a body, a rotary electric machine configured to power the road wheels and thereby propel the mobile platform, and the battery pack, switches, and controller.
