    Abstract: A battery electric device includes a battery cell, e.g., a pouch, prismatic, or cylindrical cell, connectable to an electric load, and a direct-to-air thermoelectric assembly (TEA) or another heat pump connected to a surface of the cell. A pressure control device maintains constant pressure on the cell surface when the cell is connected to the load. Connection to the load causes the TEA/heat pump to pump heat from the cell. A sensor, e.g., thermocouple(s) and/or heat flux sensor(s), generate an output voltage signal indicative of the quantity of heat. A battery system includes the device and a processor in communication with the cell, the load, and the power supply. The processor generates an electronic control signal in response to the quantity of heat.

The processor executes program instructions to execute processes including: receiving video from the of the forward looking camera and the backward looking camera, performing a computer vision and machine learning based object detection and tracking process to detect, classify and track obstacles in the video and to output detected object data, defining a blind spot region around one or more other vehicles using the detected object data, determining whether the motorcycle is located in the blind spot region, and outputting audible, tactile or visual feedback, via an output system, to a rider of the motorcycle when the motorcycle is determined to be located in the blind spot region.

    Abstract: An energy storage assembly includes a plurality of battery cells electrically connected to each other to form a battery pack in which the battery cells are grouped together to form a first stack of cells and a second stack of cells. The energy storage assembly also includes a first barrier disposed between the first stack of cells and the second stack of cells to reduce heat transfer between the first stack of cells and the second stack of cells. The energy storage assembly further includes a coolant plate disposed along the battery cells. The coolant plate defines a channel for guiding a fluid therethrough to thermally transfer heat away from the battery cells. The coolant plate defines a slot spaced from the channel, and the slot axially aligns with the first barrier to reduce heat transfer between the first stack of cells and the second stack of cells.

The heat pipe further includes a sorbent material coated onto the inner diameter surface of the tube, a first liquid contained within the bore, and a second liquid adsorbed by the sorbent material. The second liquid has a second boiling temperature that is higher than a first boiling temperature of the first liquid. The first liquid vaporizes into a first vapor, in response to the tube receiving heat from the electronic component and the first liquid reaching the first boiling temperature. The second liquid is desorbed from the sorbent material and vaporizes into a second vapor in response to the second liquid reaching the second boiling temperature.

    Abstract: Architectures and techniques for radar interference detection are provided. A radar sensor system in accordance with the present disclosure may receive, via a radio frequency (RF) receiver, radar signals including a radar signal of interest and one or more interfering radar signals. The radar sensor system may calculate a Doppler spectrum for each of the radar signals and perform a chirplet transform on the Doppler spectrum to generate various waveform parameters. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) may be performed on the waveform parameters to extract frequency features of the radar signals. The radar sensor system may classify the frequency features using a classifier to identify interfering frequency features associated with the interfering radar signals using a classifier. The radar sensor system may further extract interfering waveform information based on the interfering frequency features of the interfering RF signals.

Preliminary lateral and longitudinal planning is performed based on shadow tracks, induced kinematic discomfort and post-encroachment time to generate one or more proposed trajectories.
