  • Patent number: 11691566
Abstract: Presented are intelligent vehicle systems with networked on-body vehicle cameras with camera-view augmentation capabilities, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems. A method for operating a motor vehicle includes a system controller receiving, from a network of vehicle-mounted cameras, camera image data containing a target object from a perspective of one or more cameras. The controller analyzes the camera image to identify characteristics of the target object and classify these characteristics to a corresponding model collection set associated with the type of target object. The controller then identifies a 3D object model assigned to the model collection set associated with the target object type. A new “virtual” image is generated by replacing the target object with the 3D object model positioned in a new orientation. The controller commands a resident vehicle system to execute a control operation using the new image.

Abstract: Software code is tested to determine relative performance of the software code. Successfully executing a test may be used to flag problems in a code repository to be corrected or criteria for accepting code for acceptance to the repository. To further evaluate test results, the test may be run several times on the same code version to determine a test result stability score describing how the test results may vary in different executions, such as a frequency that the code passes the test. Based on the score, additional tests may be run to further refine test result stability score. To evaluate time-variance of testing, when a code version fails a test, a previous version of the code may be run with the same test and the results compared to determine if a new regression was introduced.

Abstract: Architectures and techniques for radar signaling in emergency scenarios. A high-frequency radio signal in a first frequency range from a remote device with a local radio frequency (RF) receiver. The received radio signal in the first frequency range is converted to a corresponding signal in a second and lower frequency range. Signal phase information in the lower frequency signal is modified to generate a modified signal in the lower frequency range. The modified signal in the lower frequency range is converted to the first frequency range. The modified signal in the first frequency range is transmitted to the remote device with an RF transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20230204749
Abstract: Techniques and architectures for managing radar sensor processing chains. A first high-frequency radio signal is received with a first RF receiver in the plurality of RF sensor suites on a host platform. The received high-frequency radio signal is converted to a lower second frequency range. A chirplet transform is performed on the signal in the second frequency range. Stored relative location information for a second RF receiver in the plurality of RF sensor suites is retrieved. Radar waveform information corresponding to the second RF receiver in a processing stream corresponding to the first RF receiver is extracted by utilizing the retrieved information and results from the chirplet transform. A point cloud is generated based on the converted signal in the second frequency range and the extracted radar waveform information.

  • Patent number: 11685288
Abstract: Presented are control systems for operating rechargeable electrochemical devices, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles with intelligent battery charging and charging behavior feedback capabilities. A method of operating a rechargeable battery includes an electronic controller receiving battery data from a battery sensing device indicative of a battery state of charge (SOC). Using this battery data, the controller determines a number of low SOC excursions at which the battery SOC is below a predefined low SOC threshold and a number of high SOC excursions at which the battery SOC exceeds a predefined high SOC threshold. The controller then determines if the number of low SOC excursions exceeds a predefined maximum allowable low excursions and/or the number of high SOC excursions exceeds a predefined maximum allowable high excursions. If so, the controller responsively commands a resident subsystem to execute a control operation that mitigates degradation of the rechargeable battery.

Abstract: Described herein is a server computing system that controls an autonomous vehicle to perform an operation to at least one of measure or isolate an effect of a variable on an actual power consumption by the autonomous vehicle. Data indicative of the actual power consumption, which is generated based on the operation, and data indicative of a projected power consumption, which is accumulated based on prior execution of the operation by a same or different autonomous vehicle, is received by the server computing system to determine whether an energy efficiency of the autonomous vehicle is degraded. The operation may be performed to identify a degraded vehicle system or component of the autonomous vehicle or to identify an autonomous vehicle in a fleet of autonomous vehicles for which further analysis is desirable. An output is generated by the server computing system that is indicative of the energy efficiency prognostics.

  • Patent number: 11689623
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for adaptive real-time streaming of Autonomous Vehicle (AV) data. In some embodiments, the AV can receive a request from the remote computing system for real-time streaming of a first type of AV data and adaptively streaming a second type of AV data when one or more streaming conditions are satisfied. The first type of AV data and the second type of AV data can be captured as raw data by sensors, actuators, transducers, and other components of the AV. The AV can stream the first type of AV data to the remote computing system in real-time for a first time period. When the AV determines the streaming conditions are satisfied, the AV can automatically determine the second type of AV data to stream to the remote computing system in real-time for a second time period.
