  • Patent number: 12114023
Abstract: A method for selecting an audio signal for alignment to compensate for the latency that is introduced by content being sent, such as from an end device, over a network to a cloud based or other computing environment located remote from the end unit. Audio that is processed in the cloud is also being sent back to the end device. Selection may be accomplished using a loop back method, a Time Stamp (TS) method or a Ping method. The Ping method allows incoming and outgoing audio signals to be selected and processed in the cloud.

  • Patent number: 12112734
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure set forth a method of reducing noise in an audio signal. The method includes determining, based on sensor data acquired from a first set of sensors, a first position of a user in an environment. The method also includes acquiring, via the first set of sensors, one or more audio signals associated with sound in the environment and identifying one or more noise elements in the one or more audio signals. The method also includes generating a first directional audio signal based on the one or more noise elements. When the first directional audio signal is outputted by a first speaker, the first speaker produces a first acoustic field that attenuates the one or more noise elements at the first position.

  • Patent number: 12105222
Abstract: Systems and methods for imaging and ranging sensors that sense objects around a vehicle. In one example, a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor including a plurality of microelectromechanical (MEMS) mirrors may be operated such that a functional field of view of the LIDAR sensor is adjusted by changing a number of MEMS mirrors that are operated to scan an external environment surrounding the vehicle. For example, one or more mirrors may be turned on or off depending on an intended vehicle path. In some examples, while all the MEMS mirrors are operated, overall processing of data may be reduced by using data acquired from the number of mirrors that scan the desired field of view.

  • Patent number: 12094334
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a road alert system is provided. The system includes a loudspeaker array and at least one controller. The loudspeaker array transmits an audio output signal to a vehicle traveling on a road. The at least one controller is programmed to receive a message indicative of a warning for the vehicle for transmission on the audio output signal and to apply equalization parameters to the message to increase in-vehicle speech intelligibility of the audio output signal within the vehicle. The at least one controller is further programmed to transmit the audio output signal via the loudspeaker array in a beamforming mode to minimize noise pollution for objects positioned along the road.

  • Patent number: 12081981
Abstract: In a vehicle, an authentication key may be transmitted by a mobile device to an automotive head unit over a first Bluetooth® link (securely-paired), then provided by the automotive head unit to a connectivity extension unit. The authentication key may also be transmitted by the mobile device to the connectivity extension unit over a second Bluetooth® link (not securely-paired). If the authentication key from the automotive head unit matches the authentication key from the mobile device, the connectivity extension unit may perform a transformation on the authentication key to generate a transformed key and transmit it to the mobile device over the second Bluetooth® link. The mobile device may perform the same transformation on its copy of the authentication key, and may compare the resulting transformed key to the transformed key from the connectivity extension unit. If the transformed keys match, the second Bluetooth® link may be verified as secure.
