    Abstract: An adjustable roof jack adapted for mounting on a flat or pitched roof. The roof jack is connected to a lower end of an air discharge duct from an air conditioning unit and to the top of an air supply duct in the roof. The roof jack includes an angular-shaped sheet metal lower frame member having a front side, back side, a first side and second side. A lower portion of the sides of the lower frame member is received around the top of the air supply duct. Also, the lower portion of the sides of the lower frame member is integrally formed into to an outwardly extending roof flange. The roof jack also includes an angular-shaped sheet metal upper frame member having a front side, a back side, a first side and second side. A top portion of the front side of the upper frame member is hinged to a bottom portion of the front side of the upper frame member.

    Abstract: Processes for rendering a polyamine-epihalohydrin resin storage stable, including processes that prepare a storage stable resin and/or processes that treat resins. A composition containing a polyamine-epihalohydrin resin which includes CPD-forming species can be treated with at least one agent under conditions to at least one of inhibit, reduce and remove the CPD-forming species to obtain a reduced CPD-forming resin so that a composition containing the reduced CPD-forming polyamine-epihalohydrin resin when stored for 2 weeks at 50° C., and a pH of about 2.5 to 3.5 contains less than about 250 ppm dry basis of CPD. The invention is also directed to a gelation storage stable reduced CPD-forming resin so that a composition containing the reduced CPD-forming polyamine-epihalohydrin resin, when stored at pH 1 for 24 hours at 50° C. and measured at 24 hours, produces less than about 1000 ppm dry basis of CPD.

    Abstract: A method for controlling Pitch and Stickies is disclosed. The method comprises adding hydrophobically modified hydroxyethyl cellulose (HMHEC) and cationic polymers to a cellulosic fiber slurry (pulp) or to a paper process or to a paper making system and results in a higher degree of inhibiting organic deposition and retention of pitch on paper fiber as compared to the inhibition of the individual ingredients. The combination of HMHEC and cationic polymers surprising results in a synergistic effect.

    Abstract: A check valve is placed in a conduit for pressurized fluids, and comprises a cylindrical external housing having inlet and outlet ends, a cylindrical internal spigot, and an elastomeric sleeve fitted over the spigot. It is sealed at the second end, and has a plurality of radially directed vent apertures along its length. The elastomeric sleeve is securely fitted to the internal spigot, in the region of the first, inlet end. The elastomeric sleeve has an internal diameter and an elastic memory such that it fits and adheres snugly to the outer periphery of the spigot, and its elasticity is overcome at a positive gauge pressure of between 5 and 20 psi so that pressurized fluid will flow from the vent apertures. Backflow of fluid at substantially zero or negative gauge pressure is precluded.

    Abstract: This invention provides a light white mineral oil-based fluidized polymer suspension (FPS) composition for use as a rheology modifier in paper coatings. It has been found that by using a selected composition of low viscosity oil as a carrier, high solids content and environmental friendly fluidized polymer suspensions of water soluble cellulose derivatives, synthetic water soluble polymers, guar gum and derivatives, starch and derivatives and mixtures thereof, can be prepared. The FPS of the present invention was found to provide unexpected beneficial performance properties when added as a rheology modifier to a paper coating containing standard binders, pigment, and water. The oil-based fluid polymer suspension composition of the present invention for use as a rheology modifier in the paper coating comprises: a hydrophilic polymer, b) an organophilic clay, c) a surfactant stabilizer, and d) a light white mineral oil having selected properties.
