Abstract: Unsaturated polyurethanes, and the use thereof as reactive emulsifiersUnsaturated polyurethanes which contain from 20 to 80% by weight of polyethylene glycol units and can be prepared by reactinga) at least one organic polyisocyanate,b) an unsaturated fatty alcohol, a polyalkylene glycol ether thereof or an unsaturated acid ester containing one hydroxyl group,c) one or more diols which additionally contain at least one further hydroxyl group or carboxyl group andd) a polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight in the region of 750 to 10,000, with maintenance of an NCO/OH equivalent ratio, based on all the starting components a) to d), of from 0.7:1 to 1.2:1.These unsaturated polyurethanes are used as reactive emulsifiers for the preparation of dispersions of hydrophobic synthetic resins which can be cured by means of free radicals and/or oxidatively.
Abstract: Solutions are described containing polyarylene sulfide and, as solvent, quinoline and/or isoquinoline and/or substituted derivatives thereof, the solvent being liquid at 25.degree. C. These solutions are processed at temperatures above 170.degree. C. and are used to produce shaped objects, such as films or fibers, or coatings. In addition they are used to determine the molecular weight of polyarylene sulfides or to purify polyarylene sulfides, or to clean apparatuses which were used in the production or processing of polyarylene sulfides.
Abstract: Process for preparing 3-sulfobenzoic acid and alkali metal salts thereof is disclosed. The present invention relates to a process for preparing 3-sulfobenzoic acid and/or alkali metal salts thereof, which comprises mixing 3-(chlorosulfonyl)benzoic acid with water and a water-immiscible solvent in which 3-sulfobenzoic acid is insoluble or only sparingly soluble, removing water from the mixture by azeotropic distillation, cooling and, if desired, admixing the 3-sulfobenzoic acid formed with alkali metal hydroxide and/or a substance forming alkali metal hydroxide and again removing water by azeotropic distillation.
Abstract: Polyvinyl butyrals (PVBs) with improved thermal stability and improved light resistance contain as stabilizers polynuclear phenols which phenolic radicals have a quaternary carbon atom in the para-position to the phenolic hydroxyl group and if desired in combination with synergistically acting, nitrogen-containing, sulfur-containing or phosphorus-containing co-stabilizers of the types a) to d). The use of the resulting films of low yellowness as interlayer films having substantially reduced yellowing for the production of laminated glasses and glass composites of silicate glass sheets is described.

Abstract: A polyphenylene ether molding composition which contains at least one alkylsulfonate as antistatic and at least one light stabilizer of the formula III ##STR1## has better antistatic properties and greater light stability than is the case for simultaneous use of alkylsulfonates and previously known light stabilizers, such as, for example, tetramethylpiperidinyl derivatives.
Abstract: Process for lowering the residual monomer content in aqueous plastic dispersions based on polyvinyl esters.Preparation of vinyl ester polymers or vinyl ester copolymers containing aqueous plastic dispersions having reduced contents of undesired residual vinyl ester monomers, caused by the preparation, and, optionally, acetaldehyde from corresponding starting dispersions, such as are obtainable from ethylenically unsaturated monomers by conventional polymerization or copolymerization methods, by selective alkaline saponification of the residual vinyl ester monomers saponifiable under alkaline conditions in the dispersions and preferably simultaneous removal of the acetaldehyde and unsaponified residual vinyl ester monomers from the aqueous dispersions by distillation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing alkali metal 3-sulfobenzoates. 3-(Chlorosulfonyl)benzoic acid is admixed with an aqueous alkali metal chloride solution, the mixture is heated and, after reaction, cooled to .ltoreq.15.degree. C. and the crystallized alkali metal 3-sulfobenzoate is separated off.
Abstract: To produce tubular molded parts made of high-temperature superconductor oxide material based on bismuth, calcium, strontium and copper, a homogeneous melt of the oxide with a specified stoichiometry is allowed to run at temperatures of 900.degree. to 1100.degree. C. into a casting zone rotating about its horizontal axis. The solidified molded part is removed from the casting zone and it is annealed for 4 to 150 hours at 700.degree. to 900.degree. C. in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. A plant for producing tubular molded parts includes a rotatably arranged mold (4, 9) which is provided at least at one end face with a front plate 6 which reduces its free cross section, a runner 7 extending into the interior of the mold (4, 9) and a crucible 8 arranged above the runner 7 which is capable of feeding the runner 7 with melt (cf. FIG. 2 A).

Abstract: Water-soluble disazo compounds, a process for their preparation and their use as dyes.Disazo compounds are described which have the formula (1) given and defined below and are used in their function as fiber-reactive dyes for the dyeing of hydroxy- and/or carboxamido-containing fiber material, such as cellulose fiber materials and synthetic and natural polyamide fiber materials, such as wool. They produce brown dyeings and prints having high color strength and good color fastness by the application and fixation methods customary for fiber-reactive dyes ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or sulfo,R.sup.1 is hydroxy, methoxy or ethoxy,is hydrogen or an alkali metal and the non-fixed sulfo group in the naphthylene radical is in the 6 or 7 position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for reducing or completely stopping the influxes of water of a deposit in at least a portion of a borehole for the extraction of oil and/or hydrocarbon gas, which traverses a deposit, a solution of a polymer being introduced, starting from the borehole, into that portion of the deposit in which the influxes of water are to be reduced or stopped, and the bore subsequently being put into service for the extraction of oil and/or hydrocarbon gas, the fluids present in the deposit coming into contact with said portion of the deposit containing the polymer and the oil and/or hydrocarbon gas flowing through said portion of the deposit and reaching the borehole, wherein the non-aqueous solution of a hydrophobic, water-insoluble polymer is introduced into the deposit and the polymer precipitates in the presence of the connate water of the deposit.
Abstract: Liquid coating agent based on a polymer containing acetoacetate groups and a polyamine in the form of the corresponding aldimine or ketimine, the polymer containing acetoacetate groups being obtained by reaction of a polyepoxide with water, an amine or a hydroxycarboxylic acid and subsequent esterification or transesterification with acetoacetic acid. These liquid coating agents are particularly suitable as binders in two-component automobile repair fillers or as two-component primers.
