Abstract: Stereoblock polymers of 1-olefins having long isotactic sequences are obtained at industrially favorable polymerization temperatures using a catalyst which comprises a metallocene compound having cyclopentadienyl radicals which are substituted by chiral groups, and an alumoxane.
Abstract: A radiation-sensitive recording material comprising a support and first and second radiation-sensitive layers is disclosed. The first radiation-sensitive layer comprises a 1,2-quinone diazide as the radiation-sensitive compound and the second radiation-sensitive layer comprises (a) a compound which forms a strong acid under the action of actinic radiation, (b) a compound which has at least one acid-cleavable C-O-C bond and (c) a polymeric binder. The recording material has an improved storage stability as compared with materials which comprise only radiation-sensitive layers based on acid-cleavable compounds.
Abstract: This invention relates to a single-stage process for imaging an electrically conductive substrate by the action of electric current, wherein the substrate is brought into contact with an electrically conductive solution of an organic substance, a direct voltage is applied between the substrate and at least one electrode, and the organic substance is deposited imagewise by current impulses, at a current density from 0.01 to 100 A/dm.sup.2. The organic substances used preferably comprise polymers.
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the electrochemical roughening of aluminum for use in printing plate supports, which is carried out by means of an electrolyte containing sulfate ions and aluminum chloride; preference is given to sulfuric acid and aluminum chloride. Printing plate supports roughened by the process according to the present invention show a particularly uniform, pit-free and overall roughening structure.

Abstract: The invention relates to modified polymers based on polyvinylene carbonate and/or polyhydroxymethylene, the modification being effected by particular alkoxylated compounds incorporated into the polymer. These polymers, for the preparation of which, according to the invention, particular dispersion stabilizers are used, are suitable, inter alia, as carriers for biologically active substances or for affinity chromatography.
Abstract: A photosensitive mixture contains a photosensitive compound and a polymeric binder which s a reaction product of a compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein X and Y are the same or different, and each denotes oxygen or sulfur,R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different, and each denotes an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl or alkoxy radical containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; an unsubstituted or substituted aryl or aryloxy radical containing from 6 to 10 carbon atoms; or, together with the phosphorus atom, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which is unsubstituted or substituted or which carries a fused benzene ring,with a polymer containing active hydrogen. The novel binders used in the mixture can be easily prepared and yield photosensitive layers of good developability and developer resistance.
Abstract: An apparatus to increase the adhesive properties of an electrode material embedded in a synthetic resin matrix of a conductive layer and also to improve the mechanical strength of the composite body comprising the synthetic resin matrix and the embedded electrode material, without giving rise to technical problems in the processing of the composite body into a roll electrode by a known winding process, is provided. Electrically conductive fibers are embedded in the electrically conductive layer and the roll electrode is formed of at least one electrically conductive layer of fiber-reinforced synthetic resins and at least one fiber-reinforced insulating layer of synthetic resins.Roll electrodes of this type are used as counter-electrodes in corona devices for treating the surfaces of film webs by means of an electrical corona discharge, in order to improve the printability of the film webs or to increase the bond strength of the film webs with other layer materials.

Abstract: Photoresist compositions suitable for deep UV and excimer laser lithography are disclosed that are mixtures of a photoacid and a polymer having imide residues to which acid labile groups are attached. These compositions provide high resolution, high contrast and high sensitivity in the deep UV (wavelength of 250-300 nm), mid-UV (wavelength of 300-350 nm) or conventional (wavelength of 350-450 nm) exposure bands. The compositions are also suitable for exposure at wavelengths commonly associated with excimer laser sources (248, 308 nm) or for exposure by X-radiation.In the compositions disclosed, the imide group ##STR1## can be blocked with certain groups, X, to form compounds containing the structure ##STR2## which have solubility properties different from the unblocked imide. These groups, X, can be cleaved by acid under the proper conditions to regenerate the unblocked imide.

Abstract: Rubber vulcanizates having a reduced heat evolution when subjected to dynamic deformation, prepared from vulcanizable rubber mixtures containing at least one type of rubber, a reinforcing resin system based on curable phenolic resins and other customary constituents, the vulcanizable rubber mixtures having been prepared from at least two rubber mixtures of different compositions. A process for their preparation by preparing in each case at least two different rubber mixtures differing from one another in their content of rubber, filler, oil, reinforcing resin system and, if appropriate, thermoplastic copolymer, by mixing the constituents thereof, then mixing the resulting mixtures with one another and vulcanizing the resulting final mixture.The use of the vulcanizable rubber final mixtures for the production of mechanical rubber goods and tires.

Abstract: Novel aminoalkylthiodibenzoxepins, physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof, a method of preparing same, pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations including same and methods of treating by administering same are disclosed. These compounds are useful as analgesic, antidepressant and anticonvulsant agents. A process for selectively reducing olefins by alkaline earth metals in loweralkanols is also disclosed.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for the selective additive correction of voids in copying layers, in which electrically conductive aqueous solutions of an organic compound are deposited in the void, with direct current connection between conductive substrate and at least one electrode, and with a current density in the range from 0.01 to 100 A/dm.sup.2. The process is preferably carried out using organic polymers with substrates composed of metal, for example, aluminum, in grained and anodized form.
