Abstract: A radar apparatus transmits right circular polarized signals and selects the right circular polarized components of the corresponding returns. It also transmits left circular polarized signals and selects the left circular polarized components of the corresponding returns. The selected left and right circular polarized compoments are processed by, for example, averaging them, producing a weighted average of them, or selecting the component of larger value.

Abstract: A multi-layered, heat shrinkable film is disclosed which possesses one or two outer layers of a polyolefin and a core layer of material having a melting point below the temperature required to orient the material of the outer layer or layers, the core layer comprising 50 to 95% of the overall thickness of the film.
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved process for preparing a superconducting composition having the formula MBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x wherein M is selected from the group consisting of Y, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu; x is from about 6.5 to about 7.0; said composition having a superconducting transition temperature of about 90 K; said process consisting essentially of preparing a precursor solution, drying the solution of obtain a solid material, and heating and cooling the solid material under specified conditions to obtain the desired product. In another embodiment, a shaped superconducting MBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x article is prepared by impregnating an article of cellulose material with the precursor solution, drying the impregnated article, and heating and cooling the impregnated article under prescribed conditions to obtain the desired product.

Abstract: A method for controlling insect larvae which inhabit the soil and feed on growing plants selected from rootworms, cutworms and wireworms which comprises applying to the soil habitat of the larvae an insecticidally-effective amount of 0,0-diethyl 0-(1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethyl)phosphorothioate.
Abstract: A latch device for a hinged door including a resiliently flexible latch bar secured to the door and having a free portion extending along the inside of the door to an end portion, near the door edge, which engages a catch by means of the bending and straightening of the latch bar. Preferred embodiments include a stop bar similar to the latch bar, but extending beyond the opposite door edge to engage another catch to hold the door open. The latch and stop bars are preferably a single bar with two free portions at its opposite ends. The catches have bearing surfaces which distort the bar as the door swings to prepare it to snap into locking engagement with the catches. Access to the latch bar, to allow unlatching, is provided through the door.
Abstract: A layered yarn package is formed of continuous filament yarn wads wherein the yarn alternates between compacted and extended lengths by axially compacting the yarn into a length, segmenting the length into alternating extended and compacted lengths then arranging the compacted lengths in a common axial direction one next to the other to form a layer. The layer may be compressed. One or more layers may form the package.

The assembly includes a connection of the second lever to the second frame section about a pivot axis fixed relative to the second frame section. A pin is moveable with the second lever at a fixed distance from the pivot axis of the connection between the second frame section and the second lever.
Abstract: A sway limiting apparatus for a tractor hitch assembly including draft links which are vertically movable between a lower operative position and an upper transport position. The sway limiting apparatus includes a telescopic linkage assembly whose operative effectiveness in limiting lateral sway of the hitch assembly is controlled by a cam defining a cam profile. The cam profile and the linkage assembly cooperate to normally control lateral sway of the hitch assembly as a function of the vertical position of a draft link relative to the horizontal.

Abstract: An analysis instrument is characterized by a rotatable mold ring onto which is drawn superimposed sheets of plastic material. The inner sheet is softened and formed into an indented mold cavity and the outer sheet sealed thereover to define a partially closed sample chamber, or cuvette. A sample to be analyzed is introduced into the chamber. Any of the chambers may have selectively introduced thereinto a suitable reagent and the reaction occurring in any chamber may be selectively monitored at any predetermined circumferential location of the mold ring.
