Abstract: A method for inspecting integrating circuit or other objects, in which the object is irradiated with an electron beam and in which a detector is caused to detect electrons emitted from the object, to determine the voltage level of the object or some other property at one or more points, or another signal generated upon irradiation. The points or nodes on the object to be inspected are allocated coordinates (x'.sub.i, Y'.sub.i) in a coordinate system x'-y' related to the object where identification points on the object are determined or applied to the object, these identification points also being allocated coordinates (x'.sub.i, y'.sub.i). The object is placed in an electron-microscope type apparatus, where the position of the coordinate system x'- y' in relation to a coordinate system x - y related to the electron microscope is determined, by determining the positions of the identification points relative to the coordinate system x - y.

The copolymer is crosslinkable by hydroxy-reactive crosslinking agent and, in particular, is suitable for use in thermosetting coating compositions adapted to form a flexible cured coating over a variety of substrates, such as metal and plastic. The copolymer has a number average molecular weight between about 1300 and about 15,000, has a hydroxyl number between about 30 and about 300, and is the reaction product of carbon-carbon double bond-reactive monoethylenically unsaturated monomer with hydroxy functional carbon-carbon double bond-bearing branched polyester macromer. The macromer is the reaction product of (i) hydroxy functional polyester reactant containing 0-10 urethane linkages per molecule with (ii) silane compound having the general chemical formula: ##STR1## wherein X is an organic group or (--Si--O--).sub.

Abstract: An antistatic hose is provided, including an inner layer of insulation material having a cylindrical configuration; a first electrically conductive fiber spirally arranged within the inner layer; a second electrically conductive fiber longitudinally arranged within the inner layer and electrically connected to the first electrically conductive fiber at the crossing points therewith; a linear reinforcing member spirally wound around the external surface of the inner layer and adhered thereto; and a member for covering both the inner layer and the reinforcing member and adhered thereto. The antistatic hose is able to prevent a material conducted by the hose from being charged by static electricity and also to discharge the static electricity from the material. In addition, an anti-collapse characteristic is achieved by the spirally wound reinforcing member and the cover member strongly adhered to both the inner layer and the reinforcing member to prevent separation therebetween.
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate scrap material containing on its surface a chlorine-containing polymer such as, for example, polyvinylidene chloride or polyvinyl chloride, can be recovered and reused by melt-blending it with a polymer from a defined class of ethylene copolymers containing an epoxy group, and melt processing the blend in the same manner as virgin polyethylene terephthalate. The recovered and reprocessed polymer material has good physical properties and barrier properties.

Abstract: Hollow fiber separation membranes are bundled in groups of 5-350 membranes and helically wound with a 20-120 denier yarn. The bundle is more readily handled when making permeators using dry membranes and there is significantly reduced fiber breakage and damage.
Abstract: An axial flow combine harvester incorporating a novel air flow system for separating grain from material other than grain. The system includes a cross-flow fan located at the exit end of the threshing cage which acts in conjunction with a cross-flow fan located adjacent the inlet end of the threshing cage to positively direct air past the cage to provide amore efficient separation of the grain from the chaff or straw.

Abstract: Process for producing high-strength, aromatic polyamide filaments by delivering substantially uniform amounts of a spinning solution to a plurality of apertures in a spinneret plate, extruding the solution downwardly in a single vertical warp through a noncoagulating fluid and into a gravity-accelerated and free-falling coagulating fluid.
Abstract: An improved process for preparing negative images from a photohardenable tonable element, wherein the unexposed photohardenable tonable element is tacky in a preselected temperature range, T.sub.1 -T.sub.2, in which temperature range the exposed photosensitive tonable element is nontacky but wherein the exposed element is retackifiable at elevated temperatures above T.sub.2. After imagewise exposure the unexposed areas have a colorless toning material applied to them at a temperature within the range T.sub.1 -T.sub.2 to make them nontacky at temperatures of at least up to T.sub.3, which is greater than T.sub.2. After heating to an elevated temperature above T.sub.2 but less than T.sub.3 the exposed areas have a contrasting toning material applied to them to give a negative or reverse image.
