Abstract: The invention provides a method of saving selected portions of a Web page to a client local storage. A user will select a portion of a Web page. The selected text data, image data, and site link data will be stored to the client local storage. The relevant date information will be determined from the Web browser. This date information will be linked to the stored portion of the Web page.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for processing a Web page. A search query is sent from a browser to a search engine in which the search query includes a search term. The Web page is received in response to sending the query including a search term. Each instance of the search term present in the Web page is highlighted.

Abstract: An inline electron holograph method for observing a specimen with a transmission electron microscope having an electron gun, a collimating lens system, two spaced objective lenses, a biprism, and an imaging means comprises the steps of: with the first objective lens forming a virtual image of a portion of the specimen; with the second objective lens focussing the virtual image at an intermediate image plane to form an intermediate image; and projecting the intermediate image onto the imaging means.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method, system and program product for automatically adjusting location based system information in a mobile computer to reflect the time zone where a user of the mobile computer connects to the Internet, as a function of the geographic location of the IP address of the connection, as seen by an address server remote from the connection place. A table mapping the IP address of the computer with each other IP address where the mobile computer connects to the Internet and corresponding time zone data is constructed with minimal user interaction each time a new Internet connection is made. Thereafter, anytime the user connects to the Internet at an IP address in the table, location based system information is appropriately adjusted with no intervention by the user.

Abstract: A base plate of a stainless-steel body material formed by pressing is polished and cleared of burrs by means of an abrasive material that consists mainly of Fe2O3 in a polishing process. The polished base plate is heated to a heat treatment temperature for solid solution in a reducing atmosphere in a heat treatment process. In this heat treatment process, an oxide in the constituents of minute fragments of the abrasive material in the surface of the body material of the base plate is reduced to leave iron, which is dispersed into the body material.

Abstract: Controlling access to a resource, including creating a security object in dependence upon user-selected security control data types, the security object comprising security control data and at least one security method; receiving a request for access to the resource; receiving, over a randomly selected sequence of radio frequencies, security request data in at least one packet; and providing access to the resource in dependence upon the security control data and the security request data. Embodiments include encrypting the security request data; receiving a packet through a radio transceiver set to a frequency, wherein a radio frequency identification field in the packet identifies a next frequency; and setting the transceiver to receive on the next frequency. In many embodiments, a resource comprises information, and providing access to the resource includes transmitting information from the resource over a randomly selected sequence of radio frequencies.

Abstract: Disadvantages of the floating body of a SOI MOSFET are addressed by providing a pocket halo implant of indium beneath the gate and in the channel region of the semiconductor SOI layer of the MOSFET. Also provided is the method for fabricating the device.

Abstract: In an integrated circuit structure, such as in an MCM or in an SCM, a particulate thermally conductive conformable material, such as a thermal paste, is applied between a heat-generating chip and a cooling plate. Modification of the microstructure of at least one of the two nominally parallel surfaces which are in contact with the material is provided in a discrete pattern of sloped recesses. The largest particles in the material preferentially migrate downward into the recesses. The average thickness of the conductive paste is reduced to below the diameter of the largest particles dispersed in the material, providing improved cooling.

Abstract: A system for providing fact verification for a body of text. The system includes either or both of: a fact-identification arrangement which automatically identifies at least one subset of the body of text potentially containing a fact-based statement; and a fact-verification arrangement which is adapted to automatically consult at least one information source towards determining whether at least one fact contained in a fact-based statement is true or false.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for deploying web services in a web services infrastructure are provided. With the apparatus and method, a deployment descriptor for a web service is retrieved from a configuration file. A location type in the deployment descriptor is provided for identifying whether the web service is implemented using a web services description language (WSDL) document only, a JavaBean only, or both a WSDL document and a JavaBean. Based on the location type, and associated attributes of the location type, processes are performed for generating an internal definition of the web service to thereby deploy the web service in the web services infrastructure. The internal definition may be generated from the WSDL document directly, if the location type is WSDL only. If the location type is JavaBean only, the internal definition may be generated by first generating a WSDL document from the JavaBean and then generating the internal definition from the generated WSDL document.

Abstract: Methods and arrangements for facilitating database access in speech recognition. A plurality of possible subsequences corresponding to a database entry are ascertained, a record of such subsequences and their correspondence to database entries is created, and either or both of the following are carried out: unique signatures are ascertained via determining whether a subsequence corresponding to a given database entry does not also correspond to at least one other database entry; and/or multiple occurrences of a given subsequence are found, with corresponding database entries being grouped into a confusion set.

Abstract: Apparatus for a multiparty electronic service having at least one host computer being operative to maintain and enforce at least one machine-interpretable service specification (contract) for governing a service between the parties that interact in the processing of a service request. The at least one host computer determines, in accordance with the at least one service specification, the validity of a request and conditionally executes a sequence of processing steps as defined in the service specification. The at least one host computer is further operative to conditionally provide notifications to the contract parties. Machine-interpretable service specifications are negotiated between all parties that cooperate in the processing of a request. Machine-interpretable service specifications can be dynamically added to and cancelled from the system.

Abstract: The invention provides for extracting language and culture information from a POSIX™* conforming locale source file for the purpose of formatting sample data for country and language expert validation.
