Abstract: A micromachined electromechanical random access memory (MEMRAM) array is disclosed which includes a plurality of MEM memory cells, where each MEM memory cell has an MEM switch and a capacitor. The MEM switch includes a contact portion configured for moving from a first position to a second position for reading out a charge stored within the capacitor or for writing the charge to the capacitor. A method is also disclosed for fabricating each MEM memory cell of the MEMRAM array.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system that enables reference processes that have access to a long running object to maintain the current access to this object while this object performs a re-initialization operation in order to refresh data contained in the object. The system of the invention comprises a long running object manager that controls the re-initialization process of an object registered with the object manager. In operation, a reference program establishes a connection to the long running for purposes of accessing information in the object. This connection to the object is noted in the object manager. At this point, during the connection of the reference to the long running object, there is an event to trigger a re-initialization of the long running object. The object manager notifies the object of the trigger and holds the references that are connected to this object. The object receives the re-initialization signal, performs the re-initialization and sends a reply to the object manager.

Abstract: Path-based ranking of unvisited Web pages for WWW crawling is provided, via identifying all the paths beginning with a “seed” URL and leading to visited relevant web pages as “good-path set”, and for each unvisited web page, identifying the paths beginning from the “seed” URL leading to it as “partial-path set”; classifying all the visited web pages and labeling each web Page with the labels of a class or classes it belongs to; training a statistic model for generalizing the common patterns among all ones of “good-path set”; and evaluating the “partial-path set” with the statistic model and ranking the unvisited web pages with the evaluation results.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved method, an system, and a set of computer implemented instructions for handling a cache containing multiple single-bit hard errors on multiple addresses within a data processing system. Such handles will prevent any down time by logging in the parts to be replaced by an operator when certain level of bit errors is reached. When a hard error exists on a cache address for the first time, serviceable first hard error, that cache line is deleted. Thus the damaged memory device is no longer used by the system. As a result, the system is running with “N−x” lines wherein “N” constitutes the total number of existing lines and “x” is less than “N”. An alternative method is to exchange the damaged memory device to a spare memory device. In order to provide such services, the system must first differentiate whether an error is a soft or hard error.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for resolving address information in an ad-hoc networking environment. Two indicators are defined to indicate whether (1) a device has a self-assigned (i.e. auto-configured) IP (Internet Protocol) address and (2) the device has an administered IP address (i.e. an IP address configured by an administrator or assigned by a service such as a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol service). These indicators are communicated, along with a device's IP host name, IP address, subnet, and subnet mask, preferably as augmented information of existing protocol messages. The information may be communicated during establishment of the data link layer connection between two devices, or it may be communicated during service discovery protocol exchanges between two devices, or in a combination thereof.

Abstract: A method of ad hoc data sharing for virtual teams rooms, including creating at least one user record representing a user granted access to digital assets, wherein each user has a client device, at least two of the client devices are wirelessly coupled for data communications to at least one computer, and each user record comprises a user access privilege field identifying for each user that user's user access privilege for access to digital assets. Embodiments also include receiving from client devices digital asset records representing digital assets, retrieving digital assets in dependence upon the location fields in the digital asset records, displaying the retrieved digital assets, and editing one or more of the retrieved digital assets, wherein the editing is carried out in dependence upon user access privilege and in dependence upon asset access permission.

Abstract: The present invention utilizes a combination of software and hardware that renders the computer screen incomprehensible to onlookers. The software consists of a computer program that scrambles the organization of the image on the computer screen. The scrambling program can start automatically during the computer boot up and the computer display will only show the scrambled information. The hardware consists of a set of glasses that reorganizes the scrambled image on the computer screen so that the authorized user can comprehend the image. The glasses contain lenses consisting of a unique arrangement of smaller square lenses tiled together to form a full size eyeglass lens. The smaller lenses correspond to the break-up pattern used by the software to scramble the computer screen. When the invention is utilized, the screen is incomprehensible to the normal viewer. However, a viewer equipped with the correct glasses will see the unscrambled image.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer implemented instructions for enforcing power-off or operating mode change in personal electronic devices. The present invention causes a personal electronic device to change to a required operating mode as indicated by a broadcasted signal in a venue that restricts access of personal electronic devices. Additionally, the personal electronic device can reset to a previous operating mode, i.e., the operating mode prior the enforced change upon receipt of an appropriate broadcast signal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for error logging on a memory module, such as a DIMM, are provided. If an error occurs in a memory module, the operating system of the computing device stores a log of the error in a storage device mounted to the memory module. The log may identify the type and quantity of errors caused by the faulty memory module and may also include defective bit identification information. The defective bit identification information may be used to identify individual memory elements on the memory module that are defective. If the errors exceed a given quality or quantity level, the operating system may store an indicator in the storage device on the memory module that the memory module is defective and take that memory module off-line to prevent problems from occurring with the programs that are running on the computing system.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for monitoring instant messaging user accounts are provided. The apparatus and method provide a mechanism by which transcripts of instant messages may be generated and analyzed to determine if inappropriate contact with unapproved users is occurring. A user is registered with an instant messaging service provider such that an indication as to whether or not transcripts of the user's instant messages should be stored. In addition, a listing of destination user identifications that are approved, and thus do not require transcripts, may be provided to the instant messaging service provider. Thereafter, when an instant message is received, a look-up of the source user identification of the instant message, and optionally, the destination user identification, may be used to determine if transcripts are to be stored. The transcript may be reported to an authorized recipient of the transcript.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for allowing callers to adjust in position within a call hold queue are provided. An advancement token earned by a caller is detected at a calling queue. The position of the caller within the calling queue is adjusted, in response to redemption of the advancement token, such that the caller is allowed control over the position within the calling queue by earning advancement tokens. In particular, a caller may earn advancement tokens by participation in competitions or surveys or by redemption of membership points.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for managing a caller profile for multiple callers across multiple call hold centers are provided. Multiple call centers preferably subscribe to a remote caller profile server that manages caller profiles that are distributable to the multiple call centers. Each of the multiple call centers utilizes caller profiles to specify services to the callers related to the caller profiles when those callers are placed on hold within the caller centers. In addition, each of the call centers monitors the activity of callers while on hold and transfers the monitored activity information to the remote caller profile server to update the caller profiles.

Abstract: A dataline wiring structural system is provided for an eDRAM which suppresses coupling and switching noise associated with datalines by providing a plurality of metal levels upon which the datalines are positioned. Each of the datalines carrying a differential signal includes at least one vertical twist in which the true and complementary signal components of the differential signal change position from the one metal level of the plurality of metal levels to another level.
