Abstract: A method and apparatus simultaneously displays the main text and/or more attached filed of a message received in a mobile terminal. This simultaneous display allows a user to confirm the main text and attached files in the message. The main text and attached files may be shown in respective areas of the display.

Abstract: A semiconductor device with multiple channels includes a semiconductor substrate and a pair of conductive regions spaced apart from each other on the semiconductor substrate and having sidewalls that face to each other. A partial insulation layer is disposed on the semiconductor substrate between the conductive regions. A channel layer in the form of at least two bridges contacts the partial insulation layer, the at least two bridges being spaced apart from each other in a first direction and connecting the conductive regions with each other in a second direction that is at an angle relative to the first direction. A gate insulation layer is on the channel layer, and a gate electrode layer on the gate insulation layer and surrounding a portion of the channel layer.

Abstract: An architecture, a system and a method monitors data structures over an IEEE 1394-1995 serial bus network. The data structures are portions of entries posted and stored to a descriptor mechanism. A resource request is submitted by a requesting control device to an AV/C resource schedule bulletin board subunit, where request data is stored and posted. The requesting control device submits a corresponding notify command data frame to the AV/C bulletin board subunit. When a competing control device performs a specified type of access activity on a specified data structure, the bulletin board subunit sends a notify response frame to the original requesting control device. The notify response frame provides an alert to the original requesting control device that the specified access activity has been performed on the specified data structure by a competing control device.

Abstract: The disclosed is a piezoelectric phase shifter, which comprises: an input part for inputting input voltages; an output part for outputting output voltages; and a control part for tuning phase difference between the output and input voltages, which are made of a piezoelectric ceramic plate. Further, the input, output and control parts are separated by insulating gaps respectively. The wide phase shift range and good ability to manage high power and relatively high energy transmission efficiency may be obtained by the disclosure.

Abstract: A display substrate having a fan-out and a method for manufacturing the display substrate are disclosed. The fan-out includes an insulating substrate, a first line, a second line, a resistance control pattern, and first and second detour pattern. The first line is disposed on the insulating substrate and is connected to a pad. The second line is formed from the same layer as the first line and is connected to a thin-film transistor (TFT). The resistance control pattern is formed from a different layer than the first and second lines. The first and second detour patterns are formed from a different layer than the first and second lines and the resistance control pattern, and connect the first and second lines with the resistance control pattern, respectively.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and a semiconductor integrated circuit for driving and controlling the liquid crystal display panel. The number of input/output wires connected to I/O terminals (bonding pads) of the semiconductor integrated circuit is reduced so as to simplify wiring patterns of the I/O wires, whereby degrees of freedom in arranging the I/O wiring patterns are enhanced. The panel has a pair of insulating substrate, and the semiconductor integrated circuit is mounted on one of the paired substrates. The semiconductor integrated circuit has a mode terminal which is fixed to a power supply potential or to a reference potential during operation of the integrated circuit, and power supply dummy terminals connected to the power supply potential or reference potential inside the semiconductor integrated circuit. The wiring patterns formed on the paired insulating substrates connect the mode terminal to the power supply dummy terminals.

In the present method, when main content data is recorded in encrypted manner, CPI that is necessary to decrypt the encrypted main content data is written in a predetermined PIC area and is also copied at least once in an area other than the PIC area.

Abstract: A display panel includes a first switching element, a liquid crystal capacitor and a second switching element. The first switching element receives a gate signal and a data signal. The liquid crystal capacitor is connected to the first switching element, and charged with an initial pixel voltage corresponding to the data signal. The second switching element operates in response to a compensation gate signal applied from a compensation gate line. The compensation capacitor is connected to the second switching element to reduce the liquid crystal capacitor's voltage to a value below the initial pixel voltage when the second switching element is turned on. Accordingly, motion blur can be reduced or eliminated.

Abstract: A method and apparatus updates software data for an interface unit that interfaces a portable audio/video player with another audio/video system. When the portable audio/video players are updated by adding new features, etc., the method and apparatus enables the users to obtain the corresponding update file for the interface unit in the same manner that the user obtains the music file. Thus, the user can easily and quickly obtain the update file for updating the interface unit and store it in the portable audio/video player in the same manner as the music files. For executing the update operation, the user selects the update file from the play list and starts playing the update file on the portable audio/video player while connecting it to the interface unit.

Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording medium including: a substrate; a perpendicular magnetic recording layer disposed over the substrate; a soft magnetic underlayer disposed between the substrate and the perpendicular magnetic recording layer; a shunting layer disposed under the soft magnetic underlayer; and an isolation layer disposed between the soft magnetic underlayer and the shunting layer and providing magnetic isolation between the shunting layer and the other layers disposed over the shunting layer are provided. The shunting layer is magnetically separated from the other magnetic layers disposed over the shunting layer, and shunts a magnetic field generated by the magnetic domain walls of the soft magnetic underlayer such that the magnetic field cannot reach a magnetic head, thereby increasing a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
