The measurement application can calculate a distance to the distance marker based on a captured image of the distance marker in the video or still images. The mobile device case can include a pocket, slot, or storage compartment for storing the distance marker.

Abstract: A mobile device case or cover can include a display module that can display notifications or other useful data to users. The display module can communicate wirelessly with the mobile device to obtain notifications. In addition, in some embodiments, the display module can communicate with a secondary mobile device (such as a phone in a user's pocket) to obtain notifications or other data.

Abstract: A protective case for a tablet device having a back face and a front face, a touchscreen on its front face, and one or more control buttons and ports on its perimeter walls. The case comprises a shell having front and back sides wherein the front side is configured to receive and retain the tablet device while providing user access to the touchscreen and user access to one or more of the control buttons, said shell including a back wall that is configured to cover at least a portion of the back face of the tablet. The protective case further includes a front cover that includes a tray, a wireless keyboard and keyboard housing. The tray includes opposing side rails and the keyboard housing includes opposing grooves on opposing side walls that are concealed and configured to engage the rails to allow the keyboard housing to slide in and out from the tray in a defined manner. The tray, keyboard and shell may each include magnets to facilitate the positioning of the case in the various open and closed positions.

Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device is disclosed. The case includes an additional power source (i.e., a battery) that can supply electric current to the mobile device. A processing device within the protective case may be wirelessly connected to the mobile device, such as with a Bluetooth interface, and thereby control operational aspects of the battery case, including for example control over supplying power to the mobile device. The battery case may be part of a charging system or kit that includes a uniquely designed separate charger. In yet another aspect, the protective case may include unitary bumper flexible bumper co-molded to the body of the case and a male connector extending from a nested portion that is adapted to tilt outward from the case to facilitate insertion of the corresponding female port on the mobile device into the connector and into the case.

Abstract: A light bulb adapter is disclosed. The light bulb adapter has a main housing configured to house electronic circuits for wirelessly receiving controlling commands via WiFi from a user through the use of a software application installed in a mobile device. In operation, the user unplug a light bulb from an existing lighting fixture and plugs the light bulb plug of the light bulb adapter into the lighting fixture. A light bulb is inserted to the light bulb receptacle of the light bulb adapter. The user can connect a mobile device to the light bulb adapter over a wireless local area network via an accessory protocol and control the light bulb adapter, and subsequently the light bulb connected to it, using the accessory protocol.
