Abstract: A musical piece recommendation system is provided that allows instantaneous registration of a new user and a new musical piece without retraining in a basic training section. A first incremental training section 21 monitors a rating history storage section 3, and each time a change is made to a rating history or a new user is added, performs updating of or addition of the topic selection probability for the user for which the change is made to the rating history or for the new user such that the likelihood determined by a basic training section 17 is kept maximized. A second incremental training section 21 monitors an acoustic feature storage section 5, and each time a new musical piece is added to perform addition to acoustic features, adds the musical piece selection probability related to the added musical piece such that the likelihood determined by the basic training section 17 is kept maximized.

Abstract: The present invention separates inputted triple play IP data into Internet and TV data and voice (VoIP) data, encodes the Internet and TV data permitting a long delay time according to the existing DVB-S2 standard, and encodes the voice data permitting only a short delay time according to a DVB-RCS+M standard based 4K mode. Each encoded data is subjected to the orthogonal modulation and the orthogonally modulated voice data is subjected to a direct sequence spectrum spread according to a spreading factor. The spread spectrum signal is multiplexed in a SCPC frequency division multiple access (FDMA) scheme so as to overlap with frequencies allocated to each user.

Abstract: In an active muffler having improved response characteristics, a speaker section includes a diaphragm adapted to generate sound, a voice coil for driving the diaphragm, and a distance sensor to detect the movement of the diaphragm. A light generated by the LED is reflected by the diaphragm, the reflected light is detected by a phototransistor to thereby measure the distance to the diaphragm, so that the movement of the diaphragm is detected. Noise is detected by a microphone, and a signal having opposite phase to that of the noise is generated by an opposite-phase generating section. The difference between the opposite-phase signal and the signal of the distance to the speaker from the distance sensor is calculated and inputted to a PID control section. Such a difference indicates the delay of the speaker movement. Feedback control is performed in a direction in which the difference is canceled out.

Abstract: A dynamic comparator with background offset calibration is provided. The dynamic comparator includes at least one input differential pair, a first back-to-back inverter, a second back-to-back inverter, and an integrator. The input differential pair includes two current branches, wherein one of the current branches has an input referred offset. The first back-to-back inverter determines which one of the two current branches has the input referred offset in response to a first clock signal and generates two control signals accordingly. The integrator generates two calibration voltages for the input differential pair in response to the two control signals, so as to calibrate the input referred offset. The second back-to-back inverter determines a difference between two input signals received by the input differential pair after the input referred offset is calibrated in response to a second clock signal and outputs two comparison signals accordingly.
