Abstract: PolydG is added to the terminal overhangs of an siRNA. Next, a primer containing a polydC sequence added with a tag sequence is annealed and cDNA is synthesized by a reverse transcription reaction. Quantitative PCR is performed between a primer carrying the same sequence as the tag sequence, and a primer containing the same sequence as the siRNA sequence to be detected. The amount of siRNA of interest can be determined from a calibration curve produced using known amounts of short-chain dsDNA.

Abstract: A method for positioning a mobile device includes following steps. Based on a prior location point of the mobile device, many sample particles are generated according to a prior probability distribution associated with the prior location point. A current moving track or a current behavior mode of the mobile device is obtained, and the sample particles are moved according to at least one of the current moving track and the current behavior mode. A current supposed status is obtained based on a radio frequency signal received by the mobile device. A current probability distribution of the sample particles corresponding to the radio frequency signal or the current supposed status is generated to obtain corresponding weights of the moved sample particles. A current location point of the mobile device is obtained according to the weights and distribution of the sample particles.

Abstract: An organic inverter and a method of manufacturing the same are provided, which regulates threshold voltages depending on positions when an inverter circuit is manufactured on a substrate using an organic semiconductor. To form a depletion load transistor and an enhancement driver transistor at adjacent positions of the same substrate, the surface of the substrate is selectively treated by positions or selectively applied by self-assembly monolayer treatment. Thus, a D-inverter having a combination of a depletion mode and an enhancement mode is more easily realized than a conventional method using a transistor size effect. Also, the D-inverter can be realized even with the same W/L ratio, thereby increasing integration density. That is, the W/L ratio does not need to be increased to manufacture a depletion load transistor, thereby improving integration density.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the purification and collection of a nucleic acid comprising a specific nucleotide sequence, which can be carried out within an extremely short period and can achieve both high sequence-specificity and a high collection rate. Specifically disclosed is a method for the purification of a target nucleic acid comprising a specific nucleotide sequence and contained in a nucleic acid mixture. The method comprises the steps of: hybridizing a photo-ligating nucleic acid having a group represented by formula (I) as abase moiety with the target nucleic acid to form a hybrid; irradiating the hybrid of the photo-ligating nucleic acid and the target nucleic acid with light to cause the photo-ligation of the hybrid; removing any un-photo-ligated nucleic acid by washing; and irradiating the hybrid of the photo-ligating nucleic acid and the target nucleic acid with light to cause the photo-cleavage of the hybrid.

Abstract: A novel pump design for energy and volatile substances exhibits a high level of reliability and durability with minimal amount of wear on parts constituting the novel pump design. In one embodiment of the invention, a volatile substance is transformed from a solid state or a liquid state to a gaseous (i.e. vaporized) state using a thermal transfer method at a vaporizer, and transformed back to the solid state or the liquid state at a condenser after traveling through an energy conduit (e.g. a continuous cavity). Physical properties of matter such as pressure differences, diffusion, forward, and reverse thermal transfer methods are utilized for operation of a pump according to an embodiment of the invention. A heating mechanism which maintains the interior of the energy conduit above a threshold temperature of the volatile substance can be utilized for a greater pump efficiency.
