Abstract: Provided are a random wrinkle structure-formable compound, a composition including the same, a film including a random wrinkle structure, a method of forming the film, and an organic light emitting device including the film. A compound according to the present invention is coated and then, a film having a surface structure of random wrinkles may be simply formed through simple ultraviolet (UV) curing or thermosetting. When the film thus formed is used in an organic light emitting device, light generated from the organic light emitting device is scattered on surfaces of the random wrinkles to prevent light guide or total reflection, and thus, light is extracted to the outside. That is, a random structure disposed at the outside of the device performs a light extraction function and consequently, light efficiency of the organic light emitting device may be increased.

Abstract: Disclosed is an energy storage device based on metal oxide nanocrystals resealed through lithiation, and a supercapacitor using the same. The energy storage device is fabricated by dispersing transition metal nanoparticles over a carbon-based support with a large specific surface area, and then, dispersing and resealing the nanoparticles over the support using lithium ions with strong reductive ability, so that the resealed metal particles are substantially particles dispersed and resealed over the support as particles having a size of less than 1 nanometer on the scale of atomic units. The supercapacitor is fabricated using the energy storage device. The energy storage device higher capacitance than before resealing of metal oxide. Since the resealed metal particles are those having a size of less than 1 nanometer on the scale of atomic units, interference between particles disappears to exhibit excellent cycle life characteristics of 100% maintained performance in even more than 100,000 cycles.

Abstract: Using porous hollow fiber membranes, systems/methods for continuously synthesizing polymer-coated particles by anti-solvent crystallization are provided. The disclosed systems/methods provide for synthesis of polymer-coated drug particles/crystals from solutions of the polymer and the drug particles in suspension by exposing the solution to an anti-solvent through a porous hollow fiber device. A feed solution of a coating polymer with suspended drug particles can be exposed to an anti-solvent through hollow fiber pores, thereby causing the polymer to precipitate on and coat the drug particles. In addition, a feed solution of a coating polymer with drug in solution can be exposed to an anti-solvent through hollow fiber pores, thereby causing the drug to crystallize from the solution and the polymer to precipitate/coat the drug. Results indicate that a uniformly coated, free-flowing product may be developed in this advantageous porous hollow fiber anti-solvent crystallization method.
