Abstract: Provided is a photobioreactor for mass-culturing marine microalgae using a semi-permeable membrane. The photobioreactor installed in a floating type on a water level or soaked at a predetermined depth from the water level to mass-culture isolated marine microalgae includes a culturing bag formed of the semi-permeable membrane through which enables seawater to exist, but prevents the marine microalgae from being penetrated, the culturing bag being configured to provide a three-dimensionally culturing space for accommodating the marine microalgae; and a floating unit connected to the culturing bag to dispose the culturing bag near the sea level, thereby exposing the culturing bag to sunlight. Since the photobioreactor for mass-culturing the marine microalgae using the semi-permeable membrane is provided, the photobioreactor may be manufactured at a low cost and free from the spatial restrictions, thereby enabling the expansion of the photobioreactor in both the horizontal and vertical directions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the alkylation of an organic compound comprising: (a) providing a catalyst comprising one or more zeolitic materials having a BEA framework structure, wherein the BEA framework structure comprises YO2 and optionally comprises X2O3, wherein Y is a tetravalent element, and X is a trivalent element, (b) contacting the catalyst with one or more alkylatable organic compounds in the presence of one or more alkylating agents in one or more reactors for obtaining one or more alkylated organic compounds, wherein the one or more zeolitic materials is obtainable from a synthetic process which does not employ an organotemplate as structure directing agent.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of single-site-specific cysteine modification on peptide/protein molecules under physiologically relevant conditions. This process features several significant advantages over existing methods of peptide modification, such as specificity towards thiols over other nucleophiles (e.g., amines, hydroxyls), excellent functional group tolerance, and mild reaction conditions. Especially important is the specificity observed for thiols appearing in an X-Cys-Pro-X sequence over other thiols or disulfides, where X is Phe, Trp, or Tyr; under the inventive conditions, other cysteines or reactive functional groups on the same peptide/protein chain are not functionalized.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for merging continuity check messages (CCMs) are described. Some embodiments determine multiplexer and de-multiplexer nodes in a network for multiplexing and de-multiplexing CCM traffic. One embodiment creates an optimization problem which when solved identifies nodes in the network that should be configured as multiplexer nodes to multiplex multiple CCMs into a group CCM and/or as de-multiplexer nodes to de-multiplex a group CCM into multiple CCMs. This embodiment uses the solution of the optimization problem to configure nodes in the network as multiplexer nodes and/or as de-multiplexer nodes. Another embodiment determines weights for different paths in the network that can be used for merging CCM traffic, and then merges the CCM traffic based on these weights.

Abstract: A toughened plastic and its preparation method, with the toughened plastic being obtained by rubber-plastic blending of brittle or less brittle plastics and a rubber mixture. The rubber mixture consists of powdery rubbers having a cross-linked structure and an average particle size of not more than 0.50 ?m, and at least one selected from the group consisting of unvulcanized rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers. The morphology and the particle size distribution of the rubber phase contained in the toughened plastic can be controlled by changing the particle size of the powdery rubbers having a cross-linking structure and choosing proper unvulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic elastomers. The toughened plastic has good toughness and processability while keeping better strength and stiffness.

Abstract: A method for calibrating a camera network includes generating a projection matrix by each of cameras in respect of a calibration pattern that is disposed at a plurality of different positions in a photography zone. A portion of the projection matrix is produced as a sub-projection matrix. Sub-projection matrixes are arranged widthwise and lengthwise to generate one sub-measurement matrix. A singular value decomposition (SVD) is performed on the sub-measurement matrix to change the sub-measurement matrix into a matrix having a rank of 3 and a SVD is performed on the changed sub-measurement matrix. A rotation value of the calibration pattern, and an internal parameter and a rotation value of each camera are extracted to thereby calibrate the camera network.
